As we walked down the main dirt path, nobody was really saying anything. Cyprian sighed,

"So how do you like Calix?" He questioned.

"Oh, he was nice. He's the first person to say my name right without me having to pronounce it." I joked.

"Next time I'll introduce you guys better." Paasch proposed. "Seems like you guys had a connection or something...with that firecracker thing that happened." He continued.

"Yeah, that was weird." Cyprian added.

"Oh." Was all I managed to say. I'm still trying to manage those feelings I felt before.

We kept walking for a few minutes and ended up standing in front of an older looking dorm room covered in ivy and faded wood. The door was shut and the windows were clouded and blocked by curtains. You could say that it looked like a tiny cabin from a scout camp.

"Oh great." I breathed.

Paasch and Cyprian just starred at it like they were disgusted. I could hear girls talking inside the dorm. After thanking them for walking me here, they left for their dorm. I took a breath and opened the door. There were 3 pairs of eyes looking at me as I walked inside.

"Oh hi!" One girl greeted.

She had black curly hair with dusty pink highlights and brown eyes. She flashed a smile as she walked up to me.

"You must be Pfeiffer?"

"That's me."

"I'm Harper." She introduced.

She pointed to a girl with a boyish cut copper brown hair and green eyes.

"Next we have Estrella." She leaned closer to me. "She's French," she whispered.

Then she pointed to a girl with orange-red hair in a tight ponytail and deep hazel eyes.

"That's Seraphina."

"Hi." They all greeted in unison.

When I was finished being introduced to everyone, I spent the rest of the day settling myself into my dorm. Afterwards, I took a look around. The interior decorating was definitely outdated by who knows how long; it was just obvious.

There was lace decor everywhere, along with a black velvet couch and chair. The TV wasn't very big, but I don't watch much so it didn't really matter. As I opened the fridge, it was hard to tell what was in it because of the flickering light. The table lamp was a dark shade of red and grey.

The bed sheets had old fashion quilting as did the bed spreads. The carpet was slightly scratchy and the ceiling was quite low. There was an old fashioned book case with books that had an inch of dust on top of them. I couldn't even make out the book titles, though it was safe to say that they weren't very interesting anyway.

Right after I had finished looking around the dorm room, I went back to my roommates.

"So, how do you guys like the dorm?" I asked.

"I think it's....interesting..." Estrella answered with a thick French accent.

"It's pretty. I like it." Seraphina responded right after Estrella.

"Cool."

Estrella offered to make us dinner. She prepared to make a soup with chicken, thin noodles, and chives. While that was happening, I sat on the black velvet chair and I watched my roommates. Estrella and Harper were talking up a storm while Seraphina was sitting on a wooden chair starring at a rose resting in a marble style vase. She wasn't pretty outspoken from what I could tell so far.

After we ate, everyone went to put on more comfortable clothes. I put on a black hoodie and blue cotton shorts with the strings tied. I let my dirty blonde hair out of the messy bun I had put it in. Then, I brushed through the waves in it. As I sat on my bed, someone knocked at the door.

"I'll get it!" Harper called out.

When she opened the door, I heard her giggle.

"It's for you Pfeiffer." She announced.

I walked up to the door and peaked out. Standing there was Cyprian and Paasch.

"Oh, hey what are you guys doing here?" I asked.

"We have a warrant for your arrest." Cyprian joked which resulted in an elbow from Paasch.

"We wanted to come visit you! Duh." Paasch responded.

"Okay hold on a sec."

I turned around and asked out loud:

"Is it okay if my friends come in?"

"Yeah sure!" Estrella and Harper answered.

Seraphina nodded while filing her nails.

I turned back to them and gestured them to come in. When they walked in, my roommates all stood up. I began to introduce them.

"This is: Harper, Estrella, and Seraphina."

"Hey." They greeted.

Cyprian and Paasch answered the same way. After looking around, questioning the decor, and complaining about there not being any food, I sent them out. Before I shut the door, I coughed to get their attention.

"I'm visiting you guys tomorrow."

"Sure come by anytime you want." Cyprian offered while still walking.

After closing the door, the memory of Calix this morning hit me like a truck. I threw the door open and called out to them.

"Wait! Will Calix be there?!"

Cyprian and Paasch were barely visible. They're silhouettes were outlined by moonlight.

"If you want!" Paasch's voice rang through the campus.

Happy with his answer, I closed the door.

"What time is it?"

Seraphina immediately answered. "10:42 pm."

I was a little dumbfounded by how fast she answered, but it wasn't anything to make a fuss about.

I was third to be in bed once it got late. Last, was Seraphina. The mattress would have to take some getting used to and the sheets were as stiff as boards. Tomorrow, I can go out and see more of the campus, and maybe get to know the new people I'd met better.

As I laid there, I couldn't stop replaying the incident with Calix this morning. I watched it in slow motion, sped up, any way I could. The feeling of needing to be with him after that spark was so powerful. I'm surprised I haven't run back to him. I barely know this guy, how could I feel this way towards a stranger?
