It's been a few days now, I started growing closer to Shane. Right now he's out doing gun practice with Rick and some of the group, I was left here with Dale and Glenn. Daryl was resting.

"So Megan, you and Shane?" Glenn smirks a little.

"So Glenn, you and Maggie." I remark.

"H-how Di-"

"I'm not stupid. But don't worry I won't say anything, not my place to."

"Thanks." I have some water. "I honestly thought you'd get with Daryl." I chuckle.

"Most people did."

"You care about Daryl, he means a lot to you doesn't he?"

"Yeah, I've known him since I was 18 so it's hard not to care you know. Even if I was angry at him."

"Nice te' know am loved." I turn to see Daryl smirking at me.

"Yup." I shrug. "How you feeling Dixon?"

"I'm fine. What 'bout ye', heard ye' 'ad a run in with a walker yesterday when ye' wa' lookin' fer Rachel an' Sophia."

"I'm fine, nothing I couldn't handle."

"I'm glad yer' happier than before."

"What do you mean?"

"When ye' joined this group ye' weren't too happy te' begin with, especially when ye' saw me an' Merle. But now ye' got Shane, ye' seem a bit happier. I hope he treats ye' right, ye' deserve it."

"Dixon going soft." I torment him.

"Shut up." I laugh at him.

"I hope he treats me right."

"Megan?" I hear Hershel ask as he walks to us.

"Yeah?"

"Can I talk to you please?"

"Sure." I walk away with him. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, I just wanted to thank you."

"For?"

"Maggie told me about how you stuck up for her on more than one occasion too."

"It was nothing really, she's a nice girl."

"You didn't know us that well but you'll happily stand up for a stranger, why?"

"It's how I taught my self to be, help strangers if need be or stick up for them if others are as I say 'ganging up' on them." He smiles.

"I like you. You know respect, did your parents help teach you about helping others?" I look down for a moment.

"No. I didn't really get along with my family, I was more like an outcast. They acted like they cared when others were around but when we were alone." I scoff lightly. "They didn't care much, best thing they did was let me live by myself when we moved."

"They don't really sound nice, no one should treat their own kids like an outcast."

"That's why I am like I am with mine, I try my best to make sure I'm nothing like my parents. Even in this shit hole."

"Well for what I can see you're a good mum, I know you'll find your daughter. You can borrow a horse if you like one day to see if it'll be faster."

"Thanks Hershel."

"It's fine, the others are back. I'll see you later." He nods before walking away, I walk to the others.
