In the middle of the wall was a large set of oaken doors hanging ajar. I retrieved my sword from my sheath and crept over to the entrance. I opened it only enough to peak in. I didn't know what I was walking into, but I was ready for anything.

A smaller version of the door was across the room. The room was well lit and full of marble pillrs. Inside was, also, a gang of unarmed skeletons. Easy opponents. I've face everything from giant, acid-spitting spiders to demons to men made of water.

I slipped through the opening quickly and broke into a run, slashing them to bits in a matter of minutes. Leo didn't even need to help. Not that he could get the chance to.

A paper fell out of one of the skulls. It read:
'Hello, Aria. You have made it to the first room of my dungeon. I made this room easy enough, but they won't be easy for long. I have made ten rooms of monsters, leading you where you will find what you seek. Prince Guthry. Yes, I kidnapped him and will die without an heir, unless you save him.

Until then, try to stay alive... If you can.'

I crumpled the note in my fist and left it on the floor. It gave me all the info I needed. Leo picked it up and unfolded it. He read it and did what I forgot to do. Turn it over and find out what we were up against. I had forgotten one of the rules that all knights live by: Know your opponent.

On the other side was a list of monsters. It was:
1. Skeletons
2. Goblins
3. Black knights
4. Ogre
5. Chimera
6. Sorcerer
7. Dragon
8. Zombies
9. Yourself
10. Me

"What does this mean?" I asked, pointing to number nine. All I got was a shrug. "Leo Creed, you are no help at all, sometimes."

Leo and I burst into the next room. I held my sword ready and he used his super speed and strength. The goblins wielded bronze swords or axes and silver shields. They were agile and seemed to show no weakness.

I took down the first opponent within minutes. Leo was struggling with one across the room. Three came at me. I jumped at the last second and they impaled each other. I landed with my sword going through another's skull.

Leo took out two more with a swift swing of his claws. I finished the last one by disarming him and then stabbing him in the stomach. The worst of our injuries was a slight bruise on my leg. All ten goblins were dead on the floor. Leo looked particularly displeased with our trampling into what must have seemed like a trap or death wish. It didn't help that I was emotionless and not taking time to think.

"Aria, stop," Leo demanded as I headed for the next room. He grabbed my shoulder and spun me to look at him. "We need to make an actual plan. Something you should know. I'm all for helping, but you can't be so dense or blind to go rushing around killing everything."

"Then, what do you suggest we do? Take out dear sweet time, while Guthry could be clinging to life? You might not like him, but we're still friends," I retort.

"Let's just have a plan. We had a bit of trouble, in that last room, so, why not take the group in the next room out, one by one?" Leo suggested. "Hide behind the pillars, in the shadows."

I sighed. "Ok. I'm sorry for what I did. I just need to save the prince. I love you, but this is my duty. I have to save him for Sapphiros and all of it's citizens. Now, let's get moving."

We entered the third room, carefully. I made no sound. I moved like a shadow and we quickly took the black knights out one by one; dragging them into the shadows and finishing them off. Leo would grab them and bring them to me, their executioner, where they were slain.

This helped us finish them of in a matter of minutes. The last one tried to escape us. Leo watched as I landed on the body with my sword in his back. There were splatters of sickly, green and red blood on my leather uniform and warm clothes.

Author's Note: Finished this chapter on my birthday. I turned 14 in May 26, 2014. Now, I'm 16. I intend to write more in the future. This will be my first novel.
