The incessant ringing of my cell made me groan. I was trying to write-something I never found the motive to do for months and months-but whoever was on the other end of the phone wouldn't let me. Once the ringing stopped, after the third time, I stared at the blank screen and sighed. And then the ringing started again.

"Shit" I growled, snatching my phone and answering "What do you want?" I barked at the other person, my head throbbing.

"Ms. Hale?" A voice asked, sounding thrown off "I'm Dr. Ryan, I was your primary when you were brought it."

"Oh, God" I gasped "Oh, Dr. Ryan, I'm sorry. I was..." I looked at the wordless screen "Nevermind. Is everything okay?"

"I think so. There was something in one of your X-Rays we just want to get checked. Shouldn't be anything, but just to be sure, could you get in here before four?'

I checked the time. 1:12. "Sure, I'll head out in about twenty minutes, be there before two. "

"Perfect, I'll sign you up for an MRI at 2: 30."

"MRI?" I repeated.

"Yes. Like I said, it should be nothing to worry about." Dr. Ryan said

"Right, right.." I mumbled and quickly said goodbye to the doctor. I ran a hand through my hair, mind reeling. An MRI was never good.

"Amy?" Steven said as he walked downstairs "Who was that?"

"Huh? Oh, no one, just the hospital about Lizzie. I'm going to head over late" I lied, smiling at Steven "Isn't it early for you to be up? I thought you'd probably be sleeping for another hour or so."

Steven grinned "Nah, baby, I got places to be, people to see"

"Always busy. Barely anytime to have fun" I pouted.

Steven laughed and gave me a quick kiss "We'll go somewhere fun soo, I swear."

"Can we go to a waterpark?" I smiled.

"I think they're all closed for the season" Steven pointed out "Don't worry, I'll think of something."

"Oh, I trust that you will." I smiled and laid back on the couch.

"Yeah, a fun vacation before the next leg of the tour" Steven said as he walked to the door "I'm running late, we'll talk about it later!"

"Okay!" I smiled as Steven walked out the door, and wondered why I lied about something that may be nothing.

______

"Okay Ms. Hale, just lay still and relax." Dr. Ryan's voice soothed as I was brought into the large machine.

"Um, uh-huh" I muttered as the cold, metal bed like think I was laying on stopped and the medical equipment turned on. This thing wasn't as scary on House.

A few minutes later, I felt the bed thing move out of the machine, and Dr. Ryan helped me up. "Alright, we're going to look through the X-Rays and call you back as soon as we can."

I nodded and swallowed "How bad can it be, right?"

The doctor made a face and sighed "I won't lie. If it's a brain tumor, it can be pretty bad. But it doesn't look too bad and we may be able to operate. Call us if you are having any symptoms before hand."

I bit my lip and nodded, turning around and walking out, a knot in my stomach. I tried to tell myself I was fine and it was nothing, but I knew better.

I knew a lot better.
