"Okay so you're telling me, you were alive in the 1800's?"
"Yes, Alice. Will you-?"
"Bull shit, you were" I cut him off
"I'll prove it" He challenges
"Okay then. Prove it" I sit back; crossing my arms.
"I'll be back before you can say birth certificate" He winks leaving
"Birth cert-!"
"Back!!" He shouts waving the crumpled, faded tea coloured paper in my face.

'Louis William Tomlinson

13:47 p.m. December 24th 1792...'

I read, "No freaking way! But... You look so..."
"Young? I am a vampire Ally"
"Details, details" I wave him off  "Are you the oldest?"
"Yes, Alice" He sighs.

I think he might be getting annoyed. Just a little bit. But then I have been pestering him for an hour...

"How did you get changed?" I absentmindedly asked "Or were you born like this... Like Harry?"
"That's a story for another time" He starts flicking through the channels on the TV
"Please tell me?"
"No"
"Please?"
"No"
"Pleaseee?"
"No, Alice. No don't do that face. Stop it-"

"Hey guys!" CeCe interrupts, causing me to stop pulling a cute look.

I blocked out their conversation and started to think. I've been thinking a lot lately...
Why didn't Louis flip out and eat me when I was annoying him? It's not like he couldn't. The more time I spend with these... Beasts, the more I'm trusting, starting to believe their nonsense. I can't wrap my head around it all. But really if I can't manage to promise to myself I won't end up liking them then I can at least promise myself that I won't fall in love with them, I mean it can't be that hard? But I know, I need to stay away from Harry. He is... Well a cocky, arrogant ass. So it's pretty much self explanatory of why I want to stay away from him.

"Do you need a shower Alice? You kinda smell" CeCe scunches her nose slightly at me, Oh well isn't she lovely.
"I'm sorry about my dorkish little sister, Alice" Louis apologises, lightly hitting the back of CeCe's head.
"Woah, sister?" Now they say it, I see the resemblance: The blue eyes, brown hair, skin tones, face shape. How did I not notice this before? "Um, can you show me the bathroom?"
"Yeah sure, hun" CeCe smiles warmly, gripping my wrist and tugging me upstairs. "In there. There's a cupboard full of towels and everything else is on the shelf or window ledge. I'll get you some clothes and leave them by the door, where are your bags?" She rambles on
"Harry's room"
"Alright" And then she walked away. I entered the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I pulled out a fluffy white towel and placed it on the holder. I turned on the water and waited until it reached my designated temperture.

I stripped before jumping in. The warm water caressing my skin, relieving all the stress from the past 2 days made me sigh deeply. Using the bottles from the shelves I washed my hair and body just as there was a tap at the door.
"Yeah?" I asked, wrapping the towel around me; stepping out of the shower
"Your clothes are just out here" CeCe says before I hear her footsteps down the stairs.

I unlocked the door, opening it, grabbing my clothes then shutting and locking the door again. Yeah I don't want Harry to see me wrapped in just a towel. I don't even want to imagine his reaction. I dried myself off then changed into the clothes CeCe gave me which was my pink pyjamas consisting of pink shorts and a white long sleeve and my underwear. Wrapping the towel around my hair, another knock sounded at the door.
"Alice? Are you tired? It's like 11" Harry's concerned voice echoed through the wooden barrier between us. Huh? It has really been a long day, I would have thought night had come and gone by now but clearly not.
"I'm not five Harry. I'll go to bed when I want" I groan searching the cupboards for a spare toothbrush or something
"Why are you banging?" He asks, is he just standing outside listening to what I'm doing?
"I need a toothbrush" I say as I find one in the cardboard packaging
"There's one in the-!"
"I know, I found it" I begin brushing my teeth
"Come to my room when you're done" He softly demands.

I nod my head forgetting he can't see "Yeah, okay" I mumble trying to keep all the foam from the toothpaste in my mouth, I heard him laugh before walking away.

Once done, I grabbed my stuff and walked back to Harry's attic room to see him sitting boredly on his bed, book in hand, eyes trailing in quick lines as he flicked down the page, it was both interesting and calming to watch. I tried to quietly make my way around the room, not to disturb his peaceful state. Not that I'd care if I did but I prefer him not talking.

I silently walked over to the desk he has and carefully took a seat. The seat made a slight noise but Harry didn't budge. I placed my clothes on the floor before I leant back and began to take in all the features of his room.
"It doesn't matter how quiet you are I can still hear you breathing" His raspy voice takes the silence in the room, causing me to jump slightly "Little jumpy, are we?" He teases

"No... I was just... Thinking" I tell the truth. I really wasn't expecting him to talk. But I was also so caught up in my thoughts I forgot he was in here. If that makes any sense.

"About what?" He puts down the book suddenly interested
"My dad... His letters... Things really" I sigh as his lips form an 'o'
"About those... Um. Alice. Don't hate me" He pauses "I mean, don't hate me more than you already do, those letters... They are- Uhm, pre-written" He explains

My heart aches, my blood runs cold, pulse is rapidly pumping.

I could see by Harry's facial expression that my fast heart beat was taunting him. But I don't care. My dad had planned this? Before I knew it the ice cold tears were cooling down my heated cheeks.
"Prove it" I whisper
"What?" I knew he heard me. He was just confused
"You heard me. Prove it" I grind my teeth. If this is some sick joke then I swear I'll kill him. Vampire or not.

"Follow me" He quietly says. Almost as if he felt guilty. Ha, yeah right. I watched as he left the room, I quickly padded after him as he stomped down the flight of stairs. Literally, his feet alone sounded like a herd of elephants.
"In here" He turned the corner once we reached the floor below.

I entered a room just after him. I was overly shocked at the sight. I had been looking for a room like this. It was completely out of the scheme on the rest of the house. Not a single bright colour in sight, the walls were deep red with dark wood paneling, one book case filled with so many different sized, dusty books covered one wall while the other wall had portraits on, the wall straight ahead had a beautiful glass window, with nice patterned red curtains showing the misty view as they were drawn back.

In the center of the room was a huge, dark wood desk, covered in papers, books, files, a phone and a lamp. Maybe Harry works or something? I watched Harry walk and sit in the large leather chair behind the desk, and to say he looked intimidating sat there was an understatement, he looked like some kind of mafia boss that was about to pull out a gun, with his eyebrows furrowed in concentration searching through every draw.

I cautiously walked toward him, to see what was taking so long and once I stood beside him, I saw why.
"Ever think about tidying these draws?" I sarcastically remark. I saw him smile before he slammed shut the draw and rumaged through the papers on the desk.
"Ah-ha!" He exclaims holding up a mess of papers. He started tapping at the edges and hitting the bottom against the desk, to put them straight and in order. "Here" He carefully places them in my hands.

I nod in thanks before flicking through each and every letter, the burning in my eyes grew stronger with every lie on the page, the love for the man I called 'dad' lessening with each look at the ink stains. How could he?
"He did it to save you" I heard Harry say "And it did help"
"How is this helpful? How is lying to your own daughter, helpful? I have no one now, Harry" I shout. He pulled me into him, in a hug. I didn't reject.

"I have no one"
