Before its time for the guards to murder me I am lead back to my room to change.
Miraz had decided to be gracious and allow me to change and die in style. Something like that.
I was happy to change, knowing that my white nightgown had gotten very dirty and it had been ripped in too many places.
Two guards escorted me to my room and followed me inside.
Looking at them oddly, I said, "It would be nice if you would leave me alone so I can change in peace, thank you very much."One of them snickered and shook his head. "Dear Princess, we can't have you escaping, now can we?"
Ugh, disgusting pigs. I thought. Sighing, I opened my wardrobe and pulled out one of my absolute favorite dresses (picture). If I was going to die, I wanted to die looking amazing.
Eyeing the guards angrily, I made a small wall of privacy with the door of my wardrobe and my nearby window curtain. Though I knew the guards couldn't see me, I sill blushed as I undressed.
After making sure my dress was on properly, I stepped towards the guards and held out my hands willingly, allowing them to chain my hands together once again.
The two guards lead me through the halls of the palace while saying many gross and -ahem- quite inappropriate things about my outfit.
I was overjoyed to be reunited with Trumpkin, even though I knew he couldn't do anything to help me.
Thankfully the guards assigned to me were called away, leaving Trump and I alone with the two guards assigned to watch him. They seemed a little nicer, or at least a bit more respectful, then my previous guards.
We were lead down through the palace gardens then through the woods, towards the mountains.
I knew they were taking Trump and I far from the town, because if the townspeople found out about my execution...riots would be everywhere. I often went into town, dressed like a peasant, and hung out with the children. I liked their simple way of life and they liked the stories I told and the songs I sang.
After a half hour of walking, we came to a large lake. Trumpkin and I were led towards a small wooden row boat. Both of our hands were cuffed by that blasted rusty metal, making any movement uncomfortable.
The guards tossed me into the boat first. My head smacked against the wood, sending shooting pain through my head. I let out a moan and the guards laughed, throwing Trumpkin in the boat. His landing was padded by my body. Lucky dwarf.
As I sat up I gritted my teeth and angrily stated, "I am still the princess, you know."
The guards started rowing out towards the middle of the lake, ignoring my words. I sighed and continued sternly, "I said, I'm still the princess. You must treat me with respect!"
"You want respect, Princess?" One of the guards say as the come to a stop in the middle of the lake. "Well, I guess we'll have to give it to you." He sneered and shoved me up so I was standing. The other guard grabbed me by my neck and tightened his grip. It became harder to breath and my lungs started to burn, my eyesight becoming blurred. The guards smiled at my discomfort and tightened his hands. "Ladies first." He pushes me back a bit. I knew that in only a few moment I would go crashing into the water.
