When the bell finally rang, signalling the end of period one, Mr. Robins ushered me out of his office.
"Thank you, Sir." I said to him as I walked out.
He said nothing; just smiled, nodded.

I made my way down the corridor and out of the block, towards my next lesson. I actually had no idea where I was going- nor what lesson I had for that matter. I stopped for a moment when I escaped the push-and-shove and fight to get into the block I had just left.

Where am I going?
What lesson do I even have?
Look for someone I know...
Yeah, I don't know anyone. Great.

I was surrounded by people; but I was alone. This is the problem about being the 'weird' kid- nobody really knows you. I mean, everyone knows you, but they only know the you that isn't real. It's the you that all the arrogant asses portray you as.

I looked around myself as I slowly trudged through the crowd. I'm a fourth year, so I don't have to worry about the older kids that much: I have to worry about everyone else.
Searching through the crowd, I finally found someone I recognised.

Lexi Price. A pretty girl with straight, dirty blonde hair. She has a twin brother: Riley, who I've noticed is friends with Markus.
I've never actually spoken to Lexi, but she seems approachable. I mean, at times she can be pretty fiery, and everyone says she has anger issues... But I guess I can tolerate her.

I sped up a little, so Lexi would be able to hear me. Then I built up the courage to call her.

"Lexi!" I called out.
She didn't hear me. That, or she was ignoring me.
"Lexi! Lexi Price!" I called again.
This time she stopped, turned around. She probably didn't recognise me; because she seemed confused.
I ran up to her.

Her hair was dirty blonde, dip dyed lighter blonde towards the bottom, straight and long; her eyes were icy blue and a pretty shape. She had a lip piercing, a single silver ring on the left side of her bottom lip.
She had almost no make-up on, except for a mulberry lipstick.
She wore a grey knitted jumper with the sleeves rolled up; a pair of ripped, washed-out blue skinny jeans with the bottoms rolled up; a pair of black high top converse; and a brown shoulder bag.

She almost always looked bored, angry or annoyed.

"You are Lexi, right?" I asked her, unsure.
She nodded.
"Yeah." She said simply with a slightly sharp tone. Her facial expression remained the same throughout: neutral.
I stopped for a moment, thinking what to say.
"Um... Do you mind telling me what lesson we have?"

Lexi smiled at me, she actually looked really pretty.
"German." Her smile fading a little.
"Oh, thanks..." I started, beginning to walk away.

"Hey!" She called out after me as I turned my back. I turned back to face her.
"You have Miss Frank?" She asked me. I nodded.
"Me too, I'll walk with you." Lexi offered, beginning to walk beside me.

Damn, I finally might have made a friend! Or at least a decent aquaintance... I thought, walking beside Lexi.

We walked together, silent. I wanted to talk desperately; but I didn't know what to say.

"You don't have many friends, do you?" Lexi finally piped up.
I felt extremely awkward.
"Um... No... Not really..." I mumbled, stutting while looking from Lexi to the floor and back again.
Lexi began to look a little panicked.
"I-I'm sorry, I-"

I cut her off.
"No, no it's fine don't worry." I reassured her.
"But yeah, I only really have Mia... Mia Baker, by the way."
Lexi looked at me, a slight look of shock on her face. That bothered me.
"What?" I snapped- a little sharper than I originally planned.

Lexi's eyes widened a little.
"No no, I'm sorry if I seemed mean." She stammered.
She seemed really awkward, if I'm honest. I looked at her, squinted a little.

The two of us continued walking for a few more minutes before reaching our destination. Lexi stopped dead, as did I.

"I'm sorry if I made you feel awkward at all... The truth is..." Lexi started, a little quiet.
"The truth is... I feel really awkward around new people. Everyone thinks I'm just a really mean kid with anger issues." She looked down at the floor: began to mumble.

"All I really want is someone to see through all that and understand I'm not just some mean, weirdo kid with crazy mad anger issues..."

I actually kinda felt bad for Lexi; I mean, before now I had always avoided her due to her being so snappy. Once, I accidently walked into her and she was really sharp with me.
"Oi! Watch what you're doing, idiot!"

That was about two years ago. Before today, I hadn't spoke to her since. I didn't really want to, but today I was glad I had.

"No, it's fine. I feel the same." I told her, smiling a little.
Lexi smiled back at me: she looked so pretty when she smiled.
"Thanks..." She said sheepishly.

Now I felt a little less awkward: as did Lexi.

Lexi wasn't what I thought: mean, angry, overprotective. She was friendly, shy and just wanted someone to see through her hard shell.

"Anyway. C'mon." She piped up, grabbing my wrist a little tighter than she must have thought as she loosened her grip afterwards.
I smiled at Lexi. It was nice to finally speak to someone new.
