Lost Boy

Chapter 2

We all started to settle into the new house and we were very happy. Even Caroline. "Luke, Caroline, Katie, Lizzy! Wake up breakfast is ready!" I rub my eyes and jump off the second bunk. Katie was regretting her choice of the third bunk because of the short ceilings, so I decided on Mondays I would sleep on the third bunk and she could have the second. Katie jumped down and said yawning "I wonder what our school is like". And Caroline had the same look on her face. 

We all got to the kitchen to see mom had made eggs and toast. We sat and ate our food for lizzy to walk in and yell " I'M TIRED" She dragged her little blanket behind her and sucked her thumb. Mom put her into her high chair because we only had 4 chairs. "You will get your own chair by next week my lil' lizzy." We all ate quietly, but then Katie blurted "This is delicious!", well that's what Katie does, she hates silence. "This is the first time we had eggs that weren't past the expiration date and a nice pan. Ok so the bus gets here to pick all of you up at 8:20. And I have to be at work by 8:40 so it works out perfectly." I looked over to the clock, it was 7:30. 

Knowing we only had one bathroom I plowed down the rest of my food said "Thanks Mom!" with a smile , grabbed my clothes and headed for the bathroom. Caroline had quickly realized what I was doing and did the same. I could here Caroline so I hurried up in the bathroom. Brushed my teeth, got dressed and washed my hands and face. I hurried out to realize Katie was waiting up against the wall for when Caroline was done. But I could tell Katie was mad because Caroline had gotten in the shower. 

By 7:45 Caroline was done in the bathroom and Katie had just gotten in there when mom realized the pattern. I had to help mom out with Lizzy since I was done getting ready at 7:45 and Mom was still in line for the bathroom, first day of work and she needed to look nice. 

I got Lizzy out of her high chair when she was done eating and got her dressed for day care. "Lukey please pack Lizzy's little bag for day care! Love you thank you!" I got up off the bed grabbed the little bag and packed it. It was only 8:00 so I packed lunches for everybody, because I knew mom wouldn't have time, so I made her one too. "Lizzy are you excited for Day Camp?" I asked her. "NO! I don't want to leave you Lukey." She sniffled.  "Oh Lizzy I will see you right after school! You will have lots of fun and make friends!." I tried to cheer her up. "Can I bring blankey and bunny? I had completely forgotten about her blanket and bunny. I felt so stupid. "Of course! I'm so sorry I forgot." She sniffled the last of her tears as went to get her blanket and bunny. Mom ran out of bathroom "HURRY! THE BUS IS HERE GO!" I had lost track of time, I ran from moms room and grabbed my backpack, as I watched the rest of my family run out the door Lizzy gave me the saddest look.

I kissed her on the head "MOM! Lizzy needs bunny and blanket for daycare love you!" I bolted out the door and up the hill. There it went. The bus started to move and already on my first day I was the laughing stock.
