There was a long silence between Erin and I. She new I loved her right?! But I loved my family more. Spooky was bigger now. Much bigger.
He was big enough to hold both me and Erin. I was teaching him to better fly. He could nearly lift me, he was a very good boy.
He drank water now, little by little he got better. He still drank a cup or two of milk every day. But about 4-5 cups of water.
Spooky was able to recognize his name, "Spooky!" He jerked his now big head over and looked at me. "Good boy Spooks!" He waddled over to me and nuzzled his head into my arms. He understood praise and his name. Spooky is a very smart dragon.
I have been thinking for a while about, contacting Caroline. Maybe I could leave a note On the front door. Somehow Caroline would be able to find me.
I got on spooky again, he looked at me and I nodded at him. He began to flap his wings, we went up about a 3 feet until he ran out of breath. When we got back down I gave him some water in his bowl. We went up again and again until he was able to carry me to tree line. Erin watched, we had to go back to the store though. We had no clue what to do with spooky. I decided Erin would stay with him until I got back. I got Erin and I some food, and the cheapest pot and bucket I could find. We didn't want to buy water or drink the fish pee water spooks was drinking, so we'd carry it over by buck and boil as much would fit in the pot.
I started to train Spooky how to find stick so we could keep building fires. Erin had gone to the dollar store days before and gotten a lot of matches. We were doing really well. Until it rained. We were freezing, we only had a small blanket. Spooky came over under the tree house to me and Erin. It was the only place the water wasn't hitting us. Spooks curled up next to us. His skin was soft and somehow still dry. Erin and I curled up on either side of him and he seemed content.
The rain stopped by the next day. The day they were coming for Erin. "You said they're tracking you, right?" I said quietly. "Ya, but I don't know how...". An idea popped into my head. What if we get on spooky. He flys us up. They may know where you are but not how high or low. My idea was insane. It could get us all caught or keep Erin here. We'd have to try.
