I continued to hold him, I have been thinking about what to name him. I wanted to be quiet as to not wake him. I looked over at Erin, "I think we should name him... Spooky." I whispered to her. "Ya!! That's a great idea." She said quietly. "Spooky it is."
Erin showed me around her little tree house. She had saved up some money, and since she was leaving she gave it to me. I told her not to and to keep it for her next escape, but she gave me $20 of the $50. I had $35 from the 15 I had taken from mom. Soon I would return it after I was stable with food and water. Erin and I started walking to the town. We need to get some food for Spooky along with a bed.
We snuck through the forest to town, towards FreshLine. We went in, knowing we need to be quick. We ran in and took spooky over towards the lettuce. We took a tiny piece off and gave it to him. He spat it right out. Erin wasn't happy about it, but we bought a pound of pork which was $6.Next we went to get a bottle and some milk. Together that only came out to about $6Finally the bed, which we found for $2.99.This came out to 14.99. Erin payed $7out of her money and I payed $7.99 out of my money. I had Spooky in my pack, I was just hoping he wouldn't wake up. "R-" Spooky started, "RAAA" I roared to cover up Spooky, the cashier looked at me like I was an alien.
We left the grocery store to see a flyer. With my face on it. MISSING: LUKAS RAYDEN 13 YEARS OLD BLUE EYES BROWN HAIR MAY BE WEARING A BACKPACK. Oh crap, they were looking for me!!! I took Erin's hand and we ran to the forest.
Once we were back to the treehouse, we set down Spooky's bed and started a little fire. We cooked up a very small piece of meat, and warmed up some milk. I took the meat and put it in front of his still tiny snout. He started to nibble on it, I'm glad we got him food, and he had survived his journey to life. We put the milk in the bottle and I picked him up like a baby. I put the bottle to his mouth and he began to drink the milk. We didn't know much about Dragons, we were just trying our best.
Spooky fell asleep sucking on my finger. I just sat there because he needed a lot of rest.
I sat with him for a good hour or two. He ate some more meat and then fell asleep again but in his bed this time.
He slept for a long time, he learned quickly how to hold the bottle, she was getting bigger pretty fast. He was about the size of a fat cat and he would most likely soon grow out of that bed. Erin was growing worried about leaving. 6 days.
                                 ***********
                                  1 day later
Spooky had already grown about 2 feet.By Thursday he would be bigger than Erin and I. It would be harder to hide him.
I picked him up like a baby, he was across my entire arm span. He still drank some milk every couple hours but we were trying to get him to drink water, we had a free supply of that. I thought sarcastically. The lake by where the bear lived had clean water and a lot of fish. I wanted to teach Spooky how to hunt on his own, but he was still about double the size of a big fish.
Once Spooky had finished his pound of pork, we knew we didn't have enough money to buy more because we couldn't get Spooky to drink water. Well he was still only a few days old so it was ok.
That night Erin came up to me, "Luke, I don't want to leave-" Erin started. "I know. I want you to stay." I said, not realizing I cut her off. " No, but, what I mean is, I want you to come with me. Will you come with me?" She asked whole heartedly. "What? No... No... I can't... My family... I love them. I don't want to leave them, I won't leave them!" It came out wrong. "I made a promise. I can't run away forever. I love my family too much."
