Not Worried

Waking up in a random bed you've never seen before would be something terrifying for everyone. It was terrifying for a whole five seconds until I realized who's bed I was in. I could smell him everywhere. It smelt like Cody, it was a bit of an older smell, but it was Cody. How I knew it was an older smell was beyond me.

New senses were very hard to get used to.

I laid there for a bit, looking at his room. I never thought about it before, it was plain and simple. Filled with some books skittered around a desk and a dresser. It looked like he had tried to tidy up a bit because some clothes were pushed towards his closet. Other than that, there wasn't much in there.

I sat up in his bed and looked towards the huge window.  I could hear some noises coming from the outside. The sun looked like it was just setting. I took a deep breath and then the door opened.

Cody was standing there. He looked at me and smiled. "You didn't even last an hour."

I sighed and tilted my head a little, "so this is your room?"

"I figured you'd rather wake up with my scent around you over an empty guest room any day." He walked over to the bed and sat down near my feet. "It seems to have worked because you didn't freak out."

I rolled my eyes, "how'd you even know that would work. I'm still new to lol of this."

"Because I believe in you," he answered after a moment.

I rolled my eyes, "right. Believe in the girl who's new to all of this."

"I believe in the girl who is going to be Luna some day," he said as a matter of fact.

"I don't even know to the full extent of what that really means," I sighed. "I've got a long way to go."

"I'll be there to help you the whole way."

He showed me around the house, not many people were wondering around. Some older people and some children. Most of them said hello to Cody and smiled at me. None of them said anything, but I could see that they really wanted to.

When we got to the kitchen, he brought me to the window over-looking the back yard. There was a lot more people out there. People wrestling, people running, people swimming, people having the time of their lives. It was all one big happy family.

There was a small scream noise from behind me and I was attacked from behind. Cody started to laugh as I tried to keep myself upright. After a few moments she finally let go of me and I could turn around to see her. It was Kayla. I had no idea how I knew that, but I did. Even before I heard her speak or saw her face.

When I turned around to say hi to her she pulled me into another hug. "I missed you so much!"

"Hello to you too Kayla," I laughed and looked to Cody for help. She pulled away and jumped and down a few times. She was far too excited for me.

Behind her there was Jeremy, she had shown me many pictures of him so I knew what he looked like. He was watching Kayla and he looked happy that she was happy. I looked at Cody, who was watching me carefully.

He was smiling, so I smiled back.

Kayla started to ramble. She just talked and talked, all about the things she wanted us to do this summer. All the things that I needed to learn. All the people I was going to meet.

Cody was still watching me, he looked happy but also scared.

"What?" I whispered and he stepped closer to me. He leaned down to whisper in my ear as Kayla kept talking everyone's ears off.

"Don't look so worried,"

I wasn't worried. I was ready.
