Chapter 26

Amari

I sighed as I walked in the house with a bag full of groceries. I stopped in my tracks and frowned once I seen all the mess.

I heard Kay was yelling August's name askin' for some icecream from upstairs, I heard loud blasting music so I knew Chay was in the Dance room, and Noonie was running towards the living room and August was right behind her.

"August!" I yelled

He froze and popped up real fast and looked like he seen a ghost.

"What the hell is going on in here?!" I yelled bit calmed down forgetting that Noonie was in the room. "Babygirl go in the Dance room and tell Chay to turn the music down some, okay."I said with a smile

"Okay." she said softly and walked off

I sighed and looked at August before scoffing and walked towards the kitchen.

"Amari, ma..." He trailed off

I ignored him and started to put the food up, at least the kitchen was clean. As I kept going back and forth I slammed the boxed on the counter on purpose glaring at him. I grabbed the last back and slammed it on the counter but didn't see August, that's until I felt his hands on my waist.

"Bae Im sawhrry'." He said in my ear.

I almost gave in but I was still pissed. I turned around and pushed him off of me before walking off. I could still feel his presence behind me so I knew he was right behind me.

"Uncle Aug! I want icecream!"

I ran upstairs and walked towards my room where I heard her voice and forced a smile.

"Hey babygirl. What's wrong?"

Once she heard my voice her eyes lit up and she smiled.

"TT Mar! Uncle Aug was ignorin' me." she pouted.

I mimicked her pout and sat next to her on the bed, caressing her hair.

"Awe, He's being a bad Uncle huh? What was he doin all day?" I asked looking at him then back at Kay.

"Well." she said innocently. "He kept payin' attention to his football game. We was all on the couch with him, but I wanted to watch somethin' else, so he brought me in here to watch my favorite show. Then Chay wanted to dance so he told her to go in the dance room." she paused.

I glared at August and he had a guilty look. He knew that I had expensive speakers and things that a 10 year old can't handle by herself.

"Then I heard Noonie and August runnin', I guess playin' tag." she shrugged. "But! I got hungry, and I want icecream." she mumbled.

"Well, I'll get you some icecream. What kind you want?"

"Hmmmm." she touched her chin then smiled. "I want cookies 'N' cream!."
