Soooo.... Word is a dreamer has awoken. We know what we must do. '

I looked at the clock. 7:15am. Great. I hadn't slept in 24 hours. I returned gazing out the window into the stormy morning. Last nights revelation wasn't the type you just sleep over. Well, obviously Phil didn't agree with me as he snored the night away. We hadn't bothered leaving Phil's since it was already late. They'd both already left for work, leaving us at home alone.
Wow was all I could say as I looked at my phone. 20 missed calls, ten voice mails, ten texts and four pings, all from the sane contact.

Essy, I muttered.

I'd totally left her in the dark. I tried my Skype... No signal. Damn. I decided to stroll out and try to get a reception.
I walked past some burger shops and down an alley. It was quiet. I heard something rustling in the bushes. Suddenly a lizard runs past. Whew. For a moment there I thought.......
*black out*

'Ugggghhh what the hell???'
Was all I could say. I looked up to see two figures. One was middle aged, I think. She was clothed in all black, like some sort of ninja.
Her partner was dressed same, but much younger. Like my age younger. She had black hair to match her clothing and really pretty eyes. Oh c'mon. Snap out of it, I told myself.

'Alright people, since were all staring at each other, I might as well break the awkward silence. You know... There's a reason they made mobile phones. They're used for calling.', I brought mine out to make emphasis.
'And then there's Microsoft outlook. We could have scheduled a meeting. '

They looked at me bewildered, like I was insane. I'd always been a loud mouth.

'Did the master send you?'

Suddenly they became agitated. The girl lunged towards me like she had just been switched to attack mode.

'Isabel! '
Her partner screamed. She froze right in front of me. Only then did I realise she had drawn a sword to my throat. Where did that come from??? I pondered. I have to keep up appearances. Show no fear.

'So now I know her name. What's yours?' I asked.

'I'll ask the questions here', she said as isabel sheathed her sword.

'What do you know about the master?' She asked in a heavy British accent.

'Well for starters, he's not very smart. '

'You've met him? '

'No. But he's sent someone after me. Some people actually. Mr chubby and cloak dude. '

'This is no joke young man. He will be back for you. I sense it. You are fresh in the fold. Young and stupid. '

'Hey! '
I protested. But she was kinda right. KINDA.

'Do you live alone? '

'No. '

'Who mentors you? '

'No one. Yet. '
I smirked, feeling good with myself. Isabel replied my smirk with the scariest death glare I'd ever seen.

'Feisty one over there are we? '
I said in my best British accent. I didn't think they found if funny as I laughed alone so I shut up.

'Why are you here? What do you want? And why kidnap me please? '

'We needed to be sure. We speak with your mentor tomorrow at eight. Make sure youre together.' She turned to leave.

'Hey! You didnt get my address.'

'Not a problem. We will find you.' Now it was her turn to smirk. Man it looked evil. I stared blankly as they walked away, my eyes constantly meeting Isabel's. There was something about her I couldn't place. But if I read auras right, I'd say she was not one to mess with.

I texted Essy to meet me up at the loft. Not a real loft tho. It was a bar where we hung out regularly. I know what you're thinking. We don't drink. But we do hang there a lot.

I waited a couple of hours. Watched short comedy drama and a group of fire dancers. Crazy huh. Who fire dances in a bar full of alcohol??...

'Dan! '
I spun so suddenly. Phew.

'Essy. What gives? '

'So sorry. I got stuck with my dad. Grocery shopping with dads are always...', She gave an exasperated look.

'Oh my God. What happened to you?' She screamed.

I looked down to find my shirt slit on the sleeve. A little blood stained it.

'Oh. I brushed against a nail on my way here. '
I lied. I couldn't tell her the truth. Not because I didnt trust her, but I didn't even know what the truth was. It had to be Isabel.

'So sorry about that. She said. So what's up? Where were you all these days? Under a rock with no cell service?' She joked.

'Ha ha. I got caught up in a little major issue. Nothing to be bothered about.'
I suddenly became aware of my surrounding. It was like someone was watching me. It felt weird. This guy in the corner had been lighting his cigar for like ten minutes and it was still unlit. And the other guy two people away from me was reading his newspaper. Wouldn't have been odd if he had turned his page once since he started thirty minutes ago.

'Are you even listening to me?' Essy asked, obviously confused.

'What's wrong? You got to tell me. You're not behaving right. '

'I'm fine, really. I think I'm just being paranoid.'

But I knew deep down something was up.
