When we walked through the front door, it was obvious something had happened. The whole house had been thoroughly searched. Yh that's right. We are in my house. We went through the living room and I realiser something. Mum had asked us to clean up the house and we hadn't. The mess from our first encounter with meg was still all over. Apparently no need to search there.

'What do you think they were looking for?' Essy stared into my eyes as if it would reveal my thoughts.' You have this look on your face. I can't place it. '

'Its nothing.' I said as I moved forward. Izzy caught up with me just before I left the kitchen and made my way upstairs.

'I know that face. She said. That's the look I have when something ain't right. '

'Its nothing really. '

'Hmmm... If you say so. '

Suddenly she was leaving. I was confused till I saw Essy and Phil coming. Izzy had been avoiding them both. I still couldn't place what was up and I didn't know what to ask. But as they made their way up, she went back down. I opened up the stairway to the attic and looked back at Phil and Essy. For a couple of seconds we were staring till Phil understood.

'You can't be serious.' He finally said.

'Its our best option.' I replied.

'Wait, Essy said to Phil. He can't really be suggesting...'

'Trust me, he is. '

All I could do was laugh. But my laughter was cut short when I heard Phil scream Izzy's name.

'What are you doing?' I asked urgently.

'Dan, Phil has a point. She's the only one who can really tell you how stupid this is.'

'How stupid what is?' Izzy emerged from the stairwell.

'Your pal Dan here is suggesting we stay in the attic. '

Izzy spun her head to me suddenly.'
Are you crazy?'

'Jeez. Three against me. Fine. We will stay in the attic then. '

'Not funny man'. Phil said, half giggling.

'Come on guys. Look at this, they know were smart. They will never think to search here again for four kids. They didn't even know this attic existed. Look in, its not messed up. This is the last place we should be, thus the last place they'll look.'

'He does make a point', Izzy said.

'Typical.' Essy muttered, glaring at Izzy weirdly.

'Girl drama am I right?', Phil said as we began making suggestive sounds.

We climbed up into the attic and shut the stairs behind us. The attic was basically the roof with a couple couches and living room items. It was small but cosy and all wood. We never bothered making it up, didn't need the space for anything. Just myself and my mum. Neither of us knew our fathers. I always wondered why it was so. Was that something that connected us? Whenever any of us brought up the topic, our mothers would shut it down before it even began. Now I can't shake the feeling its related to all this.

'I know you guys are skeptical, but trust me on this one. Izzy and I have been talking and if were going to get to the dream verse, then we need somewhere to lay low. '

'This is dangerous. We just leave our bodies here and venture to another world. You should know I don't like risks', Phil pointed out.
'Alright, remember the cottage in the woods?', I asked.

'Yeah. What's one thing to do with the other? '

'Remember when Essy "attacked" Izzy?' I made air quotes to emphasize my point. Actually, just to get on Essys nerves a bit but what can I say, it was fun.
