It's Not How You Start, It's How You Finish

Chapter 5

I went home that day and lounged around my apartment probably overthinking the events of the last twenty four hours. I can't believe I kissed my brothers childhood friend..and liked it. I couldn't get him out of my mind all day so I decided to run a hot bath. I pinned my hair up in a bun grabbed some water and my book. I lit candles I had on the edge of my tub and just sunk in the warm bubbly water. The stress of my job was wrecking havoc on my joints sometimes and I just love a good soak. I was in the middle of reading my book when my phone chimed indicating I had a text message. I ignored it knowing it was probably Lena asking how my night went with Rob last night. Then it chimed again so I dried my hands off and looked at my phone.

*cant stop thinking of our time last night-R

* We are going somewhere fun. Dress casual, See you soon Sammy. -R

I got butterflies reading his texts. I was about to respond when I got another one.

*what are you doing?- R

I laughed as I was still in the tub. I debated whether or not to send a picture or not. I decided against it at first and responded... * soaking in the tub while I wait for our date tonight 😘

It didn't take long for him to respond back. * oh really..

He was flirting with me. I decided to take a picture of my feet just to tease him. I think it worked because he responded with * can't wait to see you. Hope you have a good time..relaxing...

I giggled and out my phone away. After about 20 minutes I got out and got in my bathrobe that I was just going to lounge in until I needed to get ready. I ended up falling asleep on my couch for a little while. When I woke up I didn't have much time to get ready as Rob was picking me up in an hour. I kept my hair in a messy bun on the top of my head and found some skinny jeans, knee high brown boots, and a cream colored sleeveless blouse with a thin braided belt across the waist. I was just putting the last touches of subtle makeup on my face when I heard the buzzer to let someone up to the apartment. I pressed the unlock button for the main door and waited for Rob to come up. I live on the fifth floor so it could be a few minutes before he got here. Once I heard a knock I got butterflies as I walked to the door.

I opened the door for him. " come in. I just have to.." I was about to say I needed to grab my purse, keys and jacket but Rob cut me off by pulling me close and kissing me. " well hello to you too" I smiled.

" Mmm, I've been thinking of our kiss this morning all day. I couldn't wait to do it again" he said as I blushed.

" as I was saying, I just need to grab my jacket and turn lights off. Make yourself at home it will be just a minute" I mentioned.

" your apartment is so..so you Sam." Rob said looking around. I came from the back where the bedrooms are.

"What do you mean?" I asked

" it's just exactly what I pictured. Neatly organized, lots of books. Definitely looks like a woman lives here." He chuckled.

" thanks. Alright I'm all set..ready?" I motioned for the door. After locking it we headed down to his car. " so what do you have up your sleeve tonight? " I ask wondering where he is taking me.

" just wait. It's a surprise" he said as we headed north towards the waterfront in downtown Boston. We pulled in a parking garage near the aquarium and walked. He grabbed my hand and laced our fingers before squeezing it to get my attention. "I hope you like the aquarium. It's kind of cheesy but I figured it would be fun. I do have a couple surprises in store for you when we get in there." He shrugged. I beamed up at him.
