"This still hasn't been gotten up?"

"Uh," Zayn rubbed the back of his neck, "not really. I missed a few spots."

"Just a few," she shook her head at him, grabbing the broom.

After another hour of mumbling and fully telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth, Gizelle decided she had heard enough. Which was a good thing because Zayn had said all he needed to. She found herself in her favorite place, the kitchen. However, it still needed some fixing since Zayn wasn't the best in her territory. He could cook, but cleaning it up? No.

The many, many months they spent apart made her realize that...she still loved this man. Gizelle was a believer in second chances, especially if it was someone she'd known for some time now. Plus, no matter what, Zayn was going to be a permanent part of her life for Amal's sake.

She was their baby, and Gizelle wanted it to work out for all three of them.

"I got it," Zayn grabbed the dustpan after she swept everything up. He bent down while she swept all the glass shards in the dustpan. They put everything away and Gizelle headed back in the living room and to the stairs, looking at the place where she knocked down most of their wedding pictures.

"Where did these go?"

"Our room."

So that was what the next few minutes were spent doing, the couple looked for new frames and used the still intact pictures and hung them back up. There wasn't much talking because Gizelle was still thinking and Zayn, wanting to talk more than ever, let her be.

Gizelle sat on the couch and waited for Zayn to come back from checking on Amal in her room. She thought long and hard about it and decided to forgive him.

Zayn came back down looking at his wife and biting his lip nervously. She patted the seat next to her and he hesitated before sitting down. Their thighs touched.

"Yeah?"

Gizelle sighed, looking down at her hands in her lap before grabbing his. She gulped, looking up at Zayn with tears in her eyes.

"I love you, Zayn. You know that," she cleared her throat, "and...and I guess I want to forgive you because...because I'm so in love with you and I will most likely somehow want to be with you even if I didn't."

Zayn squeezed her hands and sniffled. "Baby, I swear on everything from now on I'm gonna make this up to you. I love you so much," he hugged her tightly and pulled her closer.

"Don't fuck up please," she cried, "there's only so much I can take."

"I won't, I won't," he kissed her forehead, "I love you."

"I love you," she sighed, lying her head on his shoulder. A smile appeared on her face as she felt Zayn's lips graze her skin again. They both lied on the couch, whispering sweet nothings to each other and sharing the smallest of kisses.

"You're the love of my life," Gizelle whispered, staring into his eyes. She was so glad to see him finally smiling.

He hummed, kissing her cheeks and caressing her face like the most precious fine China. "I'm the luckiest man in the world."

Thunderstorms were the worst.

Gizelle had never felt so scared than when there was a storm outside. Thunderstorms were terrifying, the lightning was dangerous and fatal and the rumbling in the sky scared her to death.

Like, why did it do that? Why did the sky make noise and why did lightning come out the sky?

Why was she so scared of it in the first place? It was just nature.

She turned over and crawled deeper under the covers, her small body shook as the thunder rolled on, getting louder and louder in every five minute interval. She didn't dare look outside and tried to focus on the calm sound of the rain outside. She loved the rain.

Gizelle sniffled, her eyes brimming with tears and she started to cry. She felt Zayn beside her turn over and put his hand on her waist.

"Zelle?" his deep voice croaked, "come on, baby. Come here."

She didn't hesitate to curl into him, her face found his neck and her arms his waist. He hummed, rubbing her back when another round of thunder came about.

"Shh," he soothed, "it's okay, baby, it's okay," he gave her kisses all over her face and rocked her from side to side like a baby, "I'm here, yeah?"

She nodded, knowing that he'd always be there somehow. No matter what.
