I tapped my feet nervously waiting for the results to appear on the 10th test I've taken in the past one hour.
My back is pressed against my bathroom door as meaningless tears fell from my eyes. I don't even know why I'm crying.
My phone rang indicating the time to check the result was here. Taking a deep breath I looked at the same plus sign which I have seen all those times before.
I am pregnant. Pregnant. There is a something growing in me.
The idea brought a soft smile on my face." Daphini. Honey, you've been there for over an hour. Are you okay?" My mother, unaware of the situation asked from outside.
" Yes, I'm alright. Just finished taking a long bath." I shouted back. I couldn't get myself to explain to her the situation I am in. How would she react when she hears her 21 year old daughter is pregnant. How will he react?
" Okay, are you going somewhere?" She questioned.
" Yes, I'll be leaving right after." I replied a plan forming in my mind.
"Okay. So, you'll be having dinner out?"" Yes, mother." Hopefully.
"With whom?"" Honestly, I'm 21 year old. I think it's time I decide who I go out with." I said rolling my eyes at the closed door.
"Daphini Theodore Butcher. Don't use that tone with me." She replied sternly.
"Yes, mom." I grumbled slumping against the door.
"Now, be a good girl and tell me who you're going out with." She repeated her earlier question."Hunter." I replied reluctantly.
"Oh. Okay, I'll see you later then! Use protection." Usually I would've laughed at her use of words but today I couldn't curse myself enough for not following her instructions."Sure, mom." I tried replying nonchalantly.
I peeked out after some time to be greeted with silence, mom had left.
I picked out a white dress with a brown belt near the waist. After putting on some earnings I grabbed my clutch."Mom, I'm leaving." I yelled out trying to inform the elders in the family.
"Okay!"I turned on the engine of my car and dialed the number.
"Hello, Daphini?" I shivered hearing his voice after such a long while.
"I need to see you." I demanded even though it was me who had told him to stay away after learning the truth about it all. I love him but it takes a while to digest the fact that your boyfriend is a werewolf.
"I'll meet you in Wendy's in 5?" He asked hopefully. Mentioning the diner a few blocks away.
"No, I need to meet you, in private." I gulped a lump forming in my throat as I choked out the words.
"Where are you?" He asked just as I cut the engine and got out.
"At your door." I hung up ringing the bell of the mansion they call the pack house."Luna." Amy gasped pulling the door wider for me to enter. I was about to tell her to stick to calling me Daphini but the words couldn't make their way through my lips as I saw Caden standing in front of me.
He wordlessly turned and walked as u followed him, taking a hint in his actions.
We entered the room we spent a little to too many nights in.
"Hi." I said in a small whisper.
"You look beautiful." He complimented maintaining the distance between us. Which I silently thanked him for."I have to tell you something." I choked out feeling the room closing in on me.
"Ye-"
"Baby, why is the door locked?" A shrill voice cut him off knocking impatiently at the door.I stared back, flabbergasted at the situation in hand.
"Not now, Tina." He shouted back. My face twisted in an unwanted scowl. Not now? What is that supposed to mean?!I shake my head furiously.
"No, it's alright. Don't let me disturb your routine. I'm just someone you claim you'd die without." I spat at him, reminding him of his promises."It's not like that." His futile attempt to cover his tracks hurt me but I new better than to judge immediately.
"Really? Then what is it like?" I raised a question brow at him. Giving him a chance to explain himself.
"Is there someone with you?" Tina, still standing at the other side of the door, asked.
Feeling the last of my senses leave I opened the door to see a blonde girl dressed in the most provocative clothes.
"What is your business here?" I questioned professionally.
"Luna, I'm sorry. I didn't know the Alpha had company." Her reply made me frown deeply. She apologised?"I-I it's okay." I said still confused at her change of attitude.
"I heard you left him. So, I just thought I'd pay him a visit. I'm sorry, Luna. It wasn't my intention to come in between of you both." Her explanation cleared out a few of my doubts.
She didn't wait for my reply but left immediately bowing lightly.
"That was very different from what I had expected it to be." I shifted unconformably on my feet.
"What ever I said, I meant it. You mean everything to me." The sincerity in his voice made me look at him, truly look.
He looked drained, his eyes red and dark circles around them. His face aged more than a one of a 26 year old.
"I'm sorry for reacting the way I did." I did regret my reaction not because of my baby but even before that. I was planning to reach out to him, but I had no idea how.
"It's reasonable." The awkwardness in the situation was undeniable.
"It wasn't. I took an impulsive decision. I'd love you no matter what. You could be part butterfly for all that matters." By the end of the sentence I was a few inches from him.
"You love me?" He asked, his voice holding an emotion I couldn't quite understand.
"I do. More than anything."
He pulled me close and connected our lips. I pulled away after a while, remembering my other motive of coming here."I love you too. So much." He replied placing soft kisses on my face.
Not knowing how to put it, " What I said is not entirely true, though." I blurted seeing his smile turn upside down.
"Wh-"
"I love our baby more." I finished putting his hand on my stomach."Our baby." He repeated. "Our baby!"
He pulled me into his arms and like that we lived happily ever after.*******
