He woke up with the sunlight streaming through the windows. His eyes searched the familiar room under the daylight and a slight frown made an appearance on his already wrinkled face.
He got out of his bed, shivering a little as the cold wood hit his feet. He slipped on his glasses seeing the world clearer now.
"Maya?" He called out, his voice trembling as old age crippled his being.
"Maya?" He called out again, with urgency this time."Mr. Turner, good morning." A lady dressed in white greeted him, he felt irritation seep through his feelings at not seeing the expected face.
"Where is Maya?" His form shook with intense emotions as he got confused."Mr. Turner, Mrs. Turner is not here. It is the 2017, you are in California Old Age Homes." She saw a tear slip down the cheek of a man of seventy eight years and her heart broke little more today. 56 days of service for the same man and seeing him wake up the same way everyday.
Amnesia was playing its trick.
