39. Weathery Weather.
Later that day after all the beasts and Golems have been defeated, Haden Fanta and I are hanging out at the Insert Name. Fanta looks fine, aside from a few minor cuts. After we left she and Danny were running around together beating the crap out of Beasts and Golems. They saved several people. There weren’t any casualties during the battle, just a few injuries. A couple of Building caught Fire, but no one was hurt. I can tell Haden is still angry about Ralph and Gea being his parents. I don’t exactly understand. While I understand his anger at Gea, she gave him to the Underlan’s who abused him and treated him like crap, I don’t see why he’s angry with Ralph. He didn’t know about him. I wonder if he’ll ever forgive Gea. I don’t know. “So…” says Fanta trying to break the tension “What do you think of the weather?”
“It’s very… weathery”
Fanta nods. “Yes. It is rather weathery.” She tries to hold back a laugh. After another Awkward silence, I turn to Haden. “Haden, I’m sorry about what happened today”
“It’s not your fault my parents suck” he says
. “Well…. I’m still sorry”
“are you going to move out of the dormitory and live with Ralph?” asks Fanta. Haden looks at her funny. “What?” she asks concerned she did something wrong. “No, I’m not living with them, I’m staying in my dorm.” He says. “I understand. If I could I’d move into the dorms and not live with my mom. I’m pretty sure she hates me” Fanta said. Am I the only person here who has parents who are mostly normal? I mean my parents love me, and they love each other. I should be grateful. Haden still looks angry, and I don’t know how to comfort him. So the three of us just sit there awkwardly waiting for something to happen. Nothing does. Eventually we get tiered of just sitting here and Fanta and I start talking again. Haden still just looks mad. “So, are you and your mom getting along?” I ask her. She shrugs. “I guess. We haven’t fought in the past few days.” She says. “That’s good.” Another awkward silence ensues. We have lots of those. “What’s your Favorite animal?” I ask Fanta. “Umm… wow, I haven’t been asked that one in for ever, I’d have to say probably a wale shark” she says. “What about you?” she asks me “I like bats” I say. “Bats?” she asks. “Yeah, I just love bats, they’re so cool. Only mammal that can fly!” I say with a thumbs up. She laughs. “Yeah, I can see why they’re cool, I guess. They are a little creepy though” she says sheepishly. “Seriously misunderstood creatures, bats” I say, channeling my inner Hagrid. This gets a snort out of Haden “Hey you got him to stop moping” Fanta exclaims. He attempts to make a straight face “No, I’m not laughing” Then he loses it and has a cross between a smile and a straight face, making him look in pain. Fanta and I crack up. After a few minutes of uncontrollable laughter, she looks at the clock. “Oh, I need to go, Truth’s waiting for me, She probably wants to make sure I haven’t killed my self” she runs out the door. “Bye” she yells as she leaves. “Bye!” I call back. “We should probably go back to the dorms” I say to Haden. “Yeah, I guess” he says glumly. Apparently Fanta and My laughing fit was enough time for him to get all grumpy again. We start to walk to the dorms. “You’re going to Have to accept that she’s your mom” I say to him. He looks at me angrily. “It’s not that I don’t accept her as my mom, I don’t understand why she did this to me. Why did she leave me with them? They abused me, and she didn’t bat an eye” he said “I don’t know. Maybe she didn’t know” I say. “But I should have been living with her, but I haven’t my whole Life I’ve lived with them.” He said. “Maybe it was painful for her to see you, you do look a lot like Ralph” I say. “But she should Have kept me with her!” he yells. “Look, I understand that you’re angry with her but-”He cuts me off. “No, no you don’t understand. Your parents are great they love you and they’re your real parents and they’ve given you a great life. But My Mom dumped me with her employees, and abandoned me until she needed you. I have had a crappy life. So no, you don’t understand!” he said. “You don’t understand how much I hate her right now” he says. He doesn’t understand what I’m trying to say. I feel angry with him, and Gea. “You think you’re the only one who’s suffered because of her? I lived with her for a couple of weeks, and you know what? She trapped me, put spells on me, tried to buy my love, and was basically selling the rights to kill me after she used me to kill someone else! She was going to use me to kill someone! Do you know how that feels? How that makes you feel so weak and powerless? That’s why I was In the Sea Wyrm pool, I was contemplating escape. So yes I think I might not have a whole life of that, but I may have a slight Idea of how you feel right now” I scream
“That woman is messed up” He says.
yep”
he stops walking, looks up at the sky and then just yells, not words just noise. When he’s done, he looks at me. “that supriusingly make me feel a whole lot better. You should try it” I nod and Look up at the sky. I scream at the sky with all my might. My screams turn into laughs. “How messed up are we, that we scream at the sky?” I ask. Haden shrugs. “It probably deserves it.” I sigh. “I’m tiered.” Haden holds my hand and we walk the rest of the way to the Dorms in silence.
