"Son of a bagel maker!" I yelled when a hard object smashed into my face. I was sleeping peacefully until that moment.
I sat up, and the object that connected with my forehead and nose fell onto my lap. I looked down, and there sat my long lost remote. I then looked up and saw my sister standing in front of me with her arms crossed over her chest.
I looked over at the clock that sat on my bedside table, it was only seven, and it was a Saturday. What the hell?
Elly looked as though she had been up for hours. Her hair was curled loosely, her make-up was perfect, and she was already dressed in jean shorts and a light purple tank top.
"Did you just throw that remote at me?" I asked.
"No, I stood over you and dropped it," she replied. "Now, your stupid little games are over."
"I have no idea what you are talking about." I grabbed the remote and snuggled back down into my bed with it clutched to my chest. I was so happy to have it back.
"Do you think you can get your car fixed now?" she asked. "I do not want to show up Monday in that wrecked piece of crap, and I sure as hell am not riding in it for a week while it looks like that."
Ah, the good 'ol dented car. She absolutely hated it, and now that Dean was out of town, she needed to ride in it again.
"I like the dent," I smiled. "I think I'll keep it."
"Sadie, I am so serious right now! Fix it!" She yelled. I couldn't understand why she was getting so angry so quick. I had been pranking her for over a week, and the thing that finally gets to her is the dang dented car.
Since day one she was rude, but with every day that passed she only got worse. Her temper was always about to take her over. Hell, the more I fought with my sister, the more I felt like my patience was shrinking. If we kept acting like this, I was going to become just as bad as her.
"No," I said with a small smile.
Her face quickly turned red and then returned to its normal color. The scowl on her face was replaced with a scary smile. As for me, I immediately wished I hadn't pushed that last button. That last button that Ken had warned me about, the one I didn't think I would push, well I pushed it.
"You like the dent Sadie?"
I nodded my head. I was too proud to let my sister win, I wouldn't back down, even though I knew that nothing good could come from it.
"Well good, that means you wouldn't mind a few more," she said, then turned on her heel and stomped out of my room.
I heard the hall closet door open, a few weird noises, and then the door slammed.
"What are you doing Elly?" I yelled. I jumped up from the bed and pulled on a pair of shoes. I was only wearing very small pajama shorts and a loose fitting tank top, but I didn't think I had enough time to dress myself. Elly had evil things on her mind, and I had no time for jeans.
When my psycho sister didn't answer I bolted from the room. I didn't know what she was up to, but I knew it couldn't be any good.
I flew down the stairs two at a time, and right out the open front door.
The first thing I saw was the wooden bat that was resting on Elly's shoulder. I hadn't seen that bat in years, it was our dad's.
"Elaine, what are you gonna do with that?" I asked, stopping about five feet away from the car. I put my hands up in front of me as talked.
