Recess was finally over and I know what you are thinking, One week only? Actually, two.

I walked into the hall, to complete my first assignment for the semester. There are usually Music students on stage, playing classics. They were only students but they were perfect if you asked me. Their notes and keys always precise.

Pure talent I tell you.

I walked down the steps from the back of the hall, passing a few good rows to find a perfect spot. One where I could clearly hear the music but not too loud to distract me from my work.

That was until I saw him... standing there and my legs didn't seem to want to take another step forward but my feet wouldn't allow me to turn around and leave either.

I could hear my heart beat in my ears. "Ty left to the farm... his mother owns a pretty cool ranch and since he is going to be the new owner, he is required to be there for every little problem." Sade's voice rang in my ears.

That was last Saturday... Ty wasn't at the resort and I... I didn't ask Sade about his whereabouts, she just told me.
I guess she didn't miss how my eyes wandered shamelessly for him.

I sucked in a deep breath and finally managed to put one foot in front of the other until I was finally standing beside him... facing the stage just as he was until he turned to see the intruder,me...and quickly faced the front again.

"Hey." I said. My voice a little caught in my throat.

"Hi." He replied slowly, the both of us still facing the front.

"How was the farm? Sade told me about it." I said and quickly knitted my eyes. What is wrong with you Kat? I sound like an idiot. Oh my gosh is that what he thinks of me?

"What are you doing here?" He asked and I swear I never felt more awful in my entire life. Hearing him say that to me felt like someone just ripped my insides right out.
I froze.
"Jerome is going to freak if he finds out more people know his little secret." He said.

"Jerome?" I finally turned to see his gorgeous face.

"Yea." He said and pointed on stage.

"Woaw, it has been Jerome all along?!" That was more directed to myself. Who would have guessed?! Maybe I do after all need glasses.

Maybe you should have tried opening your eyes, Katrina. What did I say about my subconscious again?!

"I guess I better leave then." Ty said and you could hear the sadness in his voice. It broke me.

He turned to make his leave but before I knew what I was doing, my hand was on his wrist stopping him.

"Ty wait." I said staring deep in his eyes when he stared down at my hand that was holding his wrist and I could feel the heat creeping up my cheeks. I had really lost my mind.

Letting go of his hand I stared down at my feet.

"Now you want me to stay?" He said, his voice so cold it made me feel like a horrible person.

"Ty...I"

"Want me to leave?" He interrupted.

"No!" I almost yelled and stared back into his eyes. When had he changed so much? "You going to the ranch, it wasn't true was it? And if it were, you weren't there because you were needed there, were you? Are you avoiding me?"

"I'm only doing what you asked me to do. To leave."

I shook my head and before I knew it my eyes were getting glassy. How could he not see that?!

"I'm sorry, Ty." I said and bit back the tears threatening to gash out. "I am so sorry Ty." I said our eyes still locked. "I shouldn't have pushed you away but you should understand I don't want to get hurt..."

"But I told you I wasn't going to hurt you." He interrupted.

"And I believe you but I'm not just ready for something that big. I shouldn't have avoided you, hell it hurt. This last week has been hell knowing that you were avoiding me... it hurt. And I'm sorry I made you go through that." I said and only realized I was a mess of tears when I finished.
"I don't want you to leave, avoid me or stay away... I'm not ready to get into a romantic relationship right now but you were way much more than what my very own friends have ever been to me. So please Ty... don't avoid me because I don't think I'll be able to handle it."

I said sniffling and oh, how ridiculous I felt... I actually cried for a guy's attention. Damn I seem desperate... I am desperate!

"So what... friends?" Ty finally spoke but I couldn't bring myself to look at him. I never let anyone see me cry but it seemed to have happened twice in front of Ty already.

"I would be lying if I said it was going to be easy to just consider you a friend but..." he paused and swept away a tear that was trickling down my cheek. "staying away from you hurts way much more." He continued and before I knew it I was wrapped in strong arms.

The breathing became easier after that...
