I awoke the next morning to the sweet sound of PJ's guitar and the sweet sent of breakfast from down stairs. I realized it was a song I knew well, My favorite song. Hey There Delilah by Plane White T's, the song we sung on the very day we met in the airport. I jumped out of bed and make my way downstairs, noticing that my knee was no longer locked up and in pain.

A thousand miles seems pretty far

But they've got planes and trains and cars

I'de walk to you if I had no other way

our friends would make fun of us

And we'll just laugh along because

We know that none of them have felt this way

Delilah, I can promise you, that by the time that we get through

We world will never ever be the same

And your to blame

I joined in as he looked up and smiled, still singing.

Hey there Delilah

You be good and don't you miss me

Two more years and you'll be done with school

And I'll be making history like I do

And you know it's all because of you.

He stood up and sat the guitar down and I ran towards him to kiss and hug him.

"Good morning sunshine!" PJ said. "I made breakfast"

"Good morning!" I replied

"Ready to eat, my dear?"

"Please! I'm starving."

I walked into the kitchen to find two plates of food. Bacon, eggs, grits, along with fresh apple and orange slices. An American country breakfast.

"Does it look alright?" PJ said nervously.

"It looks amazing Peej!" I said whilst sitting down at the table in front of a place setting.

"Orange juice madam?"

"Yes, please." I said watching him poor me a glass of juice. "Thank you"

He nodded and kissed the top of my head.

"So what would you like to do today?" PJ said, opening the fringe, placing the carton on the shelf.

"It doesn't matter to me. It is suppose to rain today so no adventuring." I said, disappointed.

"Who said that?" He said, sounding offended. "Since when do we have to stay in if its raining?

"Well then, what do you suggest we do then smartass?" I replied giggling.

"I don't mind what we do as long as I can hear your voice. Smartass" he shot back at me with a wink and a side smile.

"Sometimes I can't tell when you are being a drama queen or just pulling my leg."

"Well I would never pull your leg because that might hurt your knee." He said giggling.

"As I said, smartass" I said with a mouthful of bacon. "But you are a smartass that can cook, I might add. And a creative one to."

"Well thank you!"

"You might be a smartass, but you are MY smartass and I love you for it" I said as me walked our empty plates to the sink and rinsed them off.

"It's not raining yet, we could walk to the bookstore and look around?" I cooed in an attempt to do a British accent.

"First off, yes let's do, that sounds fun. And second off, that accent was horrible." PJ said mimicking my deep southern accent.

"Ok, that was even worse than mine! But we might need to get you a puppet because that was something straight out of Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared!" I said laughing so hard tears were streaming down my cheeks. "Ok let's get ready to go before it rains"

We both went up to our rooms and got dressed. I opened my closet to find a very large collection of sweaters and sweatshirts. I dug through them and found an off white sweater and a pair of dark blue jeans. It would be cool and rainy out today so I got out my Doc Martins and my black trench coat.

"Ready to go?" PJ said, letting himself into my room without knocking. "You look stunning Al!"

"Why thank you Peej! You look quite handsome yourself." I said as I tied my long crazy hair up into a half up half down pony tail.

I walked to him and stood up on my tippy toes to try to kiss his cheek.

"Shortie." PJ whispered under his breath as I reached up to him.

"Excuse me? Sir, I might just have you know that I'm not short, I am just not a giant like you."

He bent down just enough that could reach his his stubbled jawline. when I jumped a bit I could reach to kiss him.

"I'm getting you stilts for your birthday." He said bending down a bit more for you to kiss his lips properly.

"Smartass" I giggle as I shove him back, signaling that I was ready to go.

We walk out and make our way to the quaint bookstore that was just a few blocks away.

"Hello! Is there anything particular that you two are looking for today?" The nice lady who worked there asked us as we entered.

"No, that's alright, thank you." PJ replied so her.

We walked back in between the shelves and peeked around for a while. I was reading the back of a novel that looked interesting. I looked up to show PJ the nice book I had just found to notice that he wasn't in sight. I walked around the shelves looking for him, nowhere to be found.

"Peej?" I said frantically whisper yelling "PJ? Where are you?"

I ran around the shop looking for my tall friend calling our his name in a low voice. "PJ! This isn't funny! Where are you?"

My separation anxiety attracted to kick into high gear.

A turn to see his head peeping around a corner at me

"You little—" I say darting over to where he was standing, He took off.

"Boo!" He whispered grabbing my waste from behind.

"PJ!" I yelp spinning around like a top, our faces centimeters apart.

PJ quickly closed the gap between us, picking me up off my feet, spinning, and kissing me.

After a few seconds he placed me back on the ground gently.

"What were you saying about that book, love?" He whispered.
