Percy stood, Riptide in hand, smeared in blood. He glanced all around the dust of the monsters which tried to kill him, or at least what remained of the dust. The rest had flown away, heading for its rightful home, Tartarus. The exact place Nico finally broke down.
Percy suddenly felt a strange feeling, teleporting into the busy streets of New York, using a puddle of water of course, spotting a mop of black hair. He snuck up behind the person, pulling them into an abandoned alleyway. Using his strength, he pointed the tip of his sword at their neck, holding their wrist against the wall with his other hand.
The victim struggled under Percy's grip, fearing that they'd be killed, gasping for breath as Percy pushed Riptide deeper into their neck. They shielded away from the sunlight that suddenly poured into the alley, revealing a quarter of their face.
Suddenly Percy gasped, dropping Riptide with a clang, letting go of the victim. He watched as the victim fell to their knees, coughing for their breath. Percy slightly paled, when the victim looked up at him with shock and fear written in their eyes.
"W-Why, Percy.. Why?" He croaked, shaking noticeably. Nico. The victim was Nico di fucking Angelo. Nico had spent weeks trying to track Percy down, wondering if he could fix Jackson.
Percy stepped towards him, watching in horror as Nico backed away from him in fear. He finally cornered Nico, trapping him in a corner of the alley.
"Pl-Please don't hurt me. Please." Nico begged, curling up in himself, purely terrified at this moment. Just as he was ready for the blow, he saw a flash, then saw nothing.
Percy had disappeared into San Francisco, killing every monster in his way, determined once more to make them suffer.
As Percy stared into the distance, one last thought ran through his mind. 'Is this really who I'm supposed to be?'
