Wes, not able to think of a way out of the situation this time, begins to form the words of surrender, each word more painful than the last, "you.. have bested..." but before he could finish he hears a voice yell something out.
"are you just going to let it end like this, you finish your journey before it even begins?! What are you going to tell your father when you two are together?" Wes looks to the origin of the voice to find Harold on the roof of the forge. "I just want you to know that you're fired, so you have no options but to win this fight, now do your father proud."
At that moment wes remembered why he was fighting in the first place, he had forgotten in the stir of battle but thanks to Harold he was filled with confidence again. you looks up at Rashale with a smile and rashile presses the tip against his head, "well? are you going to finish that sentence? if not things will have to get messy."
In the stir of the moment Wes moves sharply to the right at the same time Rashale lunges the dagger forward, causing it to miss his head but instead causing it to jam into his left shoulder. Wes grabs at the hand holding the dagger, and Rashale's shoulder and slams him to the ground. The force of the impact of the ground causes Rashale to let go of the dagger, and Wes grabs at Rashale's throat with his left arm, making sure he stays still as his right hand pulls the dagger out of his shoulder, than holds it to Rashale's chest.
"I think it's your turn to give up now, unless you can think of how to get out of this." wes looks down at Rashale triumphantly, and Rashale lets out a sigh.
"alright, you win. I surrender." as the word surrender comes out of his mouth, a man walks towards them wearing a blue cloak with the hood up.
"Congratulations Wesley, you have won your duel. you will be contacted soon by one of our staff to show you the way to the academy, we hope to see you do great things in the near future." The man looks down to Rashale and holds out his hand and a blue essence, fog-like in appearance, leaves his body and flows into the hooded mans arm. Wes jumps off Rashale watching the essence flow into the hooded man, and looks back down at Rashale only to see a wooden training puppet with the clothes Rashale was wearing laid on-top of them.
"What did you just do? was the penalty of losing this duel death anyways?" The robed man lowers his hood revealing a rather young face, wearing circular glasses with blue eyes, short brown hair, and a clean face.
"Don't worry Wesley, the thing you fought named Rashale was just an object I animated. You may address me as Director Flynt, and this was merely a test that we hold every year for our new students," the director notices that wes looks confused but keeps talking regardless. "though I must say, you're the first person in a long time that I've seen turn around the situation where Rashale holds the dagger to their head, I must say i'm pleasantly surprised" Flynt holds up his right hand and a pale yellow light starts to emit from it. "now come here and i'll fix your shoulder, can't have you going in wounded now can we?"
"So... does that mean that i'm actually a student? I got in?" Wes walks warily towards Flynt still trying to wrap his head around the events of the last hour.
"Yes Wesley, you're now a student of my academy, now I would prefer if we sped this up. I have alot of other people to test before we let in the new batch" as Flynt stretches out his hand towards Wes' shoulder he notices that the knife wound has already healed as though it never happened. "interesting. well, farewell Wesley. Be prepared for your summons at all time." with those last words the Director put his hood back on and took a few steps back. with a final wave he snaps his fingers twice and transforms into a small blue wisp and rockets away into the sky.
