New Beginnings

Chapter 15

Alana

"Auntie Lana can we make cookies for Uncle Lijah?" Eliana asked me as I we were making lunch for ourselves as well as Elijah. He had meetings with his team and called to let me know he was in his way home.

"We sure can, what kind of cookies do you want to make?"

"Chocolate chip." I took her hand and we both walked into the kitchen and started to make cookies for Elijah. Eliana was a great help not making to much of a mess but very attentive to what I was doing. While we were baking I felt pains in my stomach but shook them off because they weren't that bad and I had been experiencing the same ones for awhile. The first time I got them I thought I was in labor and Elijah rushed me to the hospital only to find out they were Braxton Hicks contractions.

"Something smells really good in here." Elijah said walking in the kitchen.

"We made cookies." Eliana said showing him the plate of cookies that I had just taken out of the oven.

"For me?"

"No my other husband." I said rolling my eyes.

"Idris Elba's here?"

"Hahaha very funny. Although I would leave you for Idris."

"Those two kids in your belly tell me other wise."

"Good one." I laughed but stopped when I felt water trickle down my legs and grabbed onto Elijah as another pain shot through my stomach.

"Auntie you made mess." Eliana said pointing to the water on the floor.

"Are you okay babe?" Elijah asked concerned.

"My water just broke." It was after I said those words that my husband passed out, he came to after a few seconds of Eliana tapping his face and French Fry licking his face to wake him up. I couldn't pass up a moment like this and took several pictures.

"What happened?" He asked sitting up confused.

"I told you my water broke and you passed out."

"We need to get you to the hospital." Eliana and I watched in amusement as Elijah went around the house looking for my bag that was already in the car. After a few minutes I decided to take him out of his misery because my contractions were getting stronger.

"Babe, it's in the car. Our parents are meeting us at the hospital and I already called my doctor so she knows we are on the way. So if you're done with your mini panic attack we'll be in the car." Once we made it to the hospital and checked in my contractions started getting closer together and stronger. About an hour later our parents and close friends came to see us.

"What did the doctor say?" my mom asked when she walked into the room

"I still have to wait for an epidural and that so far everything looks fine for us to deliver the way we planned."

"Please tell me you got him passing out recorded." my brother asked laughing

"No but I do have pictures."

"I thought we agreed to never talk about that."

"You thought wrong, and it was your munchkin that exposed you."

"I'm your favorite uncle, I feel betrayed." he said giving her a terrible puppy dog face.

"Don't worry we won't tell anyone else."

Eliana nodded in agreement giving me a hug before she left to go home with our parents. There was still a long time until the babies would be born so everyone went home leaving Elijah and I alone.

"This may be our last time being alone for awhile." He said adjusting my pillow

"Promise me we will make time for each other no matter how hectic our lives get."

"I promise."

"And lets not have anymore for another four years."

"As long as I get my soccer team."

"How about when hell freezes over, this shit hurts."

"But wouldn't it be worth it, having replicas of us running around."

"Two more and shops closed."

"Three and you have a deal."

"You really want a big family."

"I'm an only child and they'd keep our lives interesting."

"I'll think about the third one but there are no guarantees."

"I can live with that. I love you."

"I love you to."

Three hours later I was ready to start pushing.
"Alright Alana on your next contraction I want you to push."

"We are never having sex again."

"You're doing great babe." Elijah tried to lean in to kiss my forehead put I pushed his face away.

"Shut up you did this to me."

"Push."

"Don't tell me what to do."

"I see baby A, give me one big push Alana." I did as I was told and gave one big push and heard the cry of the first baby.

"Holy shit, it's a boy. We have a son babe." Elijah said smiling at me. After Elijah cut the cord, the nurse took the baby to measure his length and weight. Shortly after I was ready to get the second one out.

"Baby b is ready to make their appearance, only push when I tell you to." She nodded her head, signaling for me to push.

"It hurts."

"I know baby, but you are almost there. One more push and we can see if it's a boy or girl." Elijah encourage kissing my forehead, this time I didn't push him away.

"You're doing great Alana push."

After one final push, we heard the cry of our baby girl. The nurse took her to get measured and handed me our son.

"He looks just like you babe." Elijah walked over with our daughter and smiled as I looked up at him.

"You did amazing babe, thank you for giving birth to our children I love you."

"I love you to." An hour after the twins were born, I was able to breastfeed both as well as decide on names with Elijah. After that we let Eliana come and see her new siblings.

"Why so tiny?" She asked looking at both babies.

"They're babies and when they get older they grow as big as you."

"What's their names?"

"The one in the pink is Elora and the one in blue is Acer." She smiled and moved closer to look at them. Our parents soon came and then our friends, even a few of Elijah's teammates came to meet the new babies. Everyone left after awhile and left us to get some much needed sleep. A few days later we finally went home and started our life as new parents.
We enjoyed our time at home with the twins before we decided that it was time for everyone to see our beautiful babies.
