Three Months Later...Alana
"Happy Anniversary!" I woke up to a bouquet of roses and smiling Elijah.
"It's been a year already?" I asked surprised at how fast time had gone by.
"Mhmm, think we can get a quickie in before our children wake up?" I nodded my head yes as Elijah hovered over me giving me a kiss, just as Elijah was about to deepen the kiss Elora started to cry on the baby monitor.
"I think your daughter says no, it's your turn daddy."
"I like it when you call me daddy, meet me in the bathroom in twenty minutes."
"There is only one man I call daddy and you are not him."
"You say that now."
"Go check on your daughter." I sat in bed for a few more minutes before finally getting up to see if Acer was awake so that we could start our morning routine and start our day.
"Look Lora it's mommy." Elijah said pointing at me while he held Elora in his arms. I would never get used to how sexy my husband looked when he held our children.
"Hi mommy's baby. Why are you up so early?" I said to her as I stood by Elijah.
"Acer is up. You want to feed Elora first while I bathe him?"
"Yes, that is if she'll let you go." I said with a chuckle, Elora was a complete daddy's girl and would cry if anyone other than Elijah tried to hold her when he was in the room. She'd settle down when she realized he wasn't around or because she was hungry. Acer had no preference and just loved being held.
I was thankful that the babies didn't cry much when we first brought them home, we managed to figure out what each cry was for after the first month and had a pretty good routine. Although when the season started for Elijah it was hard to manage when he had away games I soon got into a pretty good routine.
The rest of the day we spent time with the kids before Aiden and Leana came over to watch them while we went out to dinner to celebrate. Elijah surprised me by taking me to one of my favorite restaurants, Sun Dial Restaurant Bar and View along with a room reservation. While Elijah went to check on our room Marcus passed by our table. He stopped for a moment when he realized that it was me.
"Alana is that you?" All the anger I held felt for him the last time I saw him was gone and I actually felt nothing by his presence. I'd moved on from that time in my life and am grateful that we broke up, if we hadn't I wouldn't be married to my amazing husband or have three amazing children in my life.
"Hello Marcus."
"Are you here on a date?"
"You could say that. Are you here with someone?"
"I was, you got engaged." he asked looking at my wedding ring.
"Married actually." He looked a bit shocked when I said that but shook it off.
"Lucky guy, you look beautiful as always." He said taking a good look at me, I had to admit my post-baby body was still a work in progress but I had a wonderful husband that made me feel sexy no matter how I looked.
"Thank you I feel amazing. I have a loving and faithful husband and three beautiful children, life couldn't be better for me." I smiled seeing Elijah walk up to the table, Marcus turned around and his face was priceless when he saw who I was smiling at.
"Our room is ready love. Hey I remember you, Martin right?" Elijah said reaching to give him a handshake
"Marcus. I'm guessing this is the husband?"
"That I am, best day of my life was when she said yes to being my wife. Is he bothering you babe?"
"Nope he was just leaving, right Marcus."
"Congratulations Alana. I'm glad that you're happy."
"Thank you, goodnight Marcus."
"Goodnight Alana."
"Never liked that guy." I laughed when Elijah made a face of distaste as we walked towards the elevator.
"Me neither."
"So how did it feel to see him again?"
"Awkward, refreshing. I feel like I can finally close that chapter of my life."
"That's good, are you ready to enjoy the rest of your evening Mrs. Blake?"
"I am Mr. Blake."
"Follow me my love." I took his hand and he led me into the elevator and pressed our floor number. The ride up was spent with us talking about random things and flirting with one another. When we got to the room Elijah opened the door but stopped to carry me over the threshold.
"Before we go any further I have to say this, although our wedding ceremony and night are still a blur to me. I want you to know that night was one of the best nights of my life and I will never regret any of it. If I had the chance I would do it all over again. Not only did I get to marry you but I got two beautiful children from it as well. I love you so much for putting up with me and all the shit that happened with Victoria. I also love and appreciate you for taking Eliana in and treating her as if she is your own. I want to spend the rest of our lives loving and showing you how much I appreciate you because if it weren't for you my life wouldn't be as beautiful as it is now."
"I love you to babe, crazy as it sounds I was done with relationships when I saw you again. But something about you made me want to fall in love again, and I'm glad I did. You encourage me and make me want to be the best wife and mother that I can be. I can't thank you enough for being my new beginning."
"We're supposed to be getting it in not crying love." he laughed wiping tears from my eyes
"You started it." I shoved him before pulling him into a hug
"I love you."
"I love you to, now about my gift." I giggled as he lifted me up and carried me to the bed.
If there is one thing I hope everyone experiences in their life is making love to the person they truly love. I've learned that there is a difference between simply having sex and making love. To make love to someone means that there is a connection deeper than the physical. And oh my damn does it feel good. It's like finding out your favorite store is having a sale good.
Eventually our getaway had to end and Elijah and I went home to our babies. I would always be thankful for the new beginning I had with Elijah and looked forward to what the future held for us together.
