Feb fourteenth, a day where everyone gets their partners and go on an adventure together, a romantic one. That's right, it's valentines day. I've been alone, on this day, every year, since I was thirteen, and I know that's a really young age, but like come on, it's the 21st century.
I know it isn't a big deal, but, if I have no date, that means I have no flowers, which means I get to buy my own chocolate, and as you all know, I'm the definition of being broke.
The point of me getting a date, is just, impossible, my brother would always tease me every single year, and I never liked it. Speaking of dates, for the love of god, Noah, my dear older brother, has a really bad taste in girls, and I mean it. His date is just, sassy, spoiled, bratty, frustrating, every bad thing u can think of is in her, it was meant to be.

Do you guys know that one feeling, when you enter school and the wind of 'shit is about to happen' smacks you in the face, yeah? that's me right now. I feel so left out, every single girl, with roses in their hands and chocolate in a heart shaped case, and well, I'm just here, holding books that are completely useless, at least, that's what Luke said.
Damn, this day is just horrible, from the first second, till the end of the day, just horrible.
"Hello, Nel" Jack said, Luke's twin.
"Hi." I greeted waving to him without really caring.
"Are you alone too?" He asked, damn, he is so straightforward.
"Yup."' I said while nodding
"You serious?" He asks again, surprised. "I was just wondering if Jen had a date" he asked.
Well Nellie, guess your really gonna be alone all valentines, I always get my hopes up.
"Nope." I said before closing my locker and walking away. Before reaching my destination, I took a quick glance at him, seeing him staring at me in confusion, well done Nellie.
Hours passed, finally, we're dismissed from our last lesson. As a routine, I walk all the way back home, but this time, without my brother.

"Nellie, Can you please go to the farm? I need some eggs." my mom yelled from downstairs.
"Alright, but why not Noah?" I asked
"Your brother is on a date, remember?" she replied
Of course he is, thanks mom for reminding me it's the day of torture.
"Yes ma'am" I said heading outside the house.
Jogging to the farm, afraid of getting kidnapped, and yes, I am that stupid. When I crossed the r-.. and I bump into someone again. Whats up with me lately?
"Sorry" I apologized to whoever it was. Looking up, OH, OF COURSE! Luke Jackson.
"Not you again" he said but saying 'you' in a rude tone.
"Leave me alone." I said before running again, face full of tears and my hands on my belly, I don't know what happened, but it's burning like hell.
"Okay," he said in confusion, when I took a glance at him, he was full of worry. But does it really matter? because it really doesn't. "I didn't mean to hurt you" he said again.
I didn't mean to hurt you, I repeated the words in my head, well too bad, you already did. "Whatever" I said in pain before disappearing out of sight.

Four hours later, Valentines day was over, finally. It was boring, frustrating, annoying, and sucked. Also, I learned my lesson, never bump into anyone, and how do we do that? by not looking at the ground. I thought about what Luke said, he was acting weird, why would he care?
I'm a nobody.
