"Alessandra! You're going to be late if you don't hurry!" My father yelled from downstairs. I sighed and grabbed my phone off of the nightstand taking a quick look in the mirror before walking down the stairs to find my dad standing there impatiently with his arms crossed. I rolled my eyes and put my hands on my hips mocking his frustration.
"You know if you weren't making me go to this stupid collage meeting I wouldn't be up so early and I wouldn't be so grumpy." I said while walking past him into the kitchen. I hopped up on the counter and grabbed an apple slowly biting into while studying my dads facial features. I defiantly got his sparkling blue eyes and his light brown curly hair but I wondered were I got the rest of my facial features from.
"Well you know if you weren't so smart and have already graduated from high school a few months ago you wouldn't have to attend this collage meeting. You would be able to go out with your friends and still be stuck in high school instead of getting ahead in life." My dad responded while shooing me off the counter.
I sighed and tried to calm myself down. He was right it wasn't his fault that I was attending this meeting. Besides I shouldn't be so hard on him he practically raised me by himself since I was a baby since my mom walked out on us when I was two. Harsh right? I sighed once more before hugging him and mumbling an apology. He leaned down and kissed my forehead squeezing me tight before telling to run off or I would be late for the meeting.
I hurried out the door and over to my car. As I drove I couldn't help but think about my mom. There was so many things I wanted to ask her but I don't think I will ever get the chance to. Like where do I get my hourglass figure from? What was her side of the family like? Why did she leave us? All these thoughts raced through my mind as I pulled up to a light that was changing to red.
I tried to take my mind off of things as I waited for the light to change to green. I tapped my fingers impatiently against the steering wheel as I looked around main street. It six am on a Saturday so the little town was pretty dead. I looked over at a few of the mom and pop shops when I saw someone or something run down the street and around the corner. It happened so quickly I wasn't quiet sure what it was.
Suddenly I got the urge to turn right instead of left. Before I could even think about it I impulsively turned right. This was so strange for me. I'm the typical good girl who does what she is supposed to and never takes risks. I couldn't believe my eyes when I turned the corner and saw the same shadow as before darting down the street and around another corner. I sped up and tried to find out what it was.
When I turned the corner I discovered that I was in a part of town I had never been to before. The street was lined with beautiful flowers and the shops on the street all varied from photography to little thrift stores. I don't know how I've missed this beautiful little street in town before I mean I have lived here my entire life. I pulled my car over and slowly got out of it searching for the mysterious shadow from before.
I cautiously crossed the street and began peeking into the little shops that were lined up on the street. I was too busy looking at the paintings through one of the shops windows to even notice that I had accidentally bumped into someone. I stumbled backwards a bit due to the impact of someone else's body bumping into mine. I straitened my dress out and lifted my head up to yell at whoever had bumped into me but I quickly stopped myself.
When I looked up I found beautiful icy blue eyes starring back into my eyes causing my heart to skip a beat and my breathe to get caught in my chest. I blushed fiercely studying the stranger I had bumped into's facial features. His icy blue eyes were the first thing that caught my attention but his sharp jaw and dark facial hair was what my eyes wondered to. The stranger had his hand on my waist and his eyes were starring intensely into mine.
"Are you okay?" The stranger spoke suddenly causing me to fall out of whatever trance I was in. His husky voice pulled me out of my trance and caused me to blush even more.
"Um I think so." I said meekly while backing away from him the place where his hand once was burned as the cold air blew against it.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump into to you. Not many people come down this way so I really wasn't expecting anyone to be here. I'm sorry again." He said quickly before pushing past me to continue you on his way.
Again something came over me. I didn't know what it was but there was this force that dared me to take risks which is why I did what I did next. I grabbed the strangers arm in an attempt to get him to stop walking. It had worked saying as he suddenly turned around and looked at me questionably. I opened my mouth to say something but quickly closed it before impulsively opening it again and blurting out the first thing that had come to my mind.
"Who are you? And why did you lure me here?" I asked skeptically. I was sure that he was the guy that was running about town and for some reason I think he wanted me to be here. I think he wanted to bump into me.
"My name is Ares I can't really tell you why but if you meet me back here tonight around eight i'll be able to explain. Now if you excuse me I have to go." He said briefly while pushing past me.
"Well don't you want to know my name!" I screamed after him I mean he tells me to meet him in this magical little strip of town and doesn't even want to know my name? That's a bit odd.
"Don't worry I already know who you are Alessandra." He said while winking before turning the corner and disappearing from my eye sight.
I stood there for a few moments trying to wrap my head around what just happened. How does this mysterious stranger know who I am and why was he in such a hurry? The sounds of cars passing by on the near by street pulled me out of my thoughts and made me realize that I was supposed to go to the college meeting. I mentally cursed myself for forgetting and getting so wrapped up in the strange boy. As I got into my car and headed home I couldn't help but wonder why I made a right turn instead of a left.
