"Let the lady go," Ara says, trying her best to prevent her knees from buckling. Courage flowed through her tone, her voice booming through the room. But it didn't take an idiot to see behind her mask of gallantry.
The masked man turns his head, his emerald eyes scanning Ara's body. Barry's eyes.
The masked man smirks. "What are you going to do about it, little girl?"
"Ara are you joking?" Iris asks, staring at her in disbelief. "You're going to get killed."
Ara certainly didn't look like a formidable body, her body frail and lacking muscles. Despite her lack of tautness and strength, Ara knew she was fast... but she was fighting a speedster here. She had to rely on her strongest weapons, her experience and strategy.
"No I'm not." Ara taps on the tabletop twice before her armbands activate. They shine a neon colour as Ara continues tapping. The masked man watches intently, entirely sure that a 23 year old girl with armbands would take down a speedster with his ability. But even he didn't see what was coming next.
Suddenly, Ara's skin turns the bright color of brass, her skin hardening to the same density as the material. The man smirks.
"Oh so you're another one of those do-good metahumans, aren't you?" He says, appearing in front of Ara's face. The man's eyes shine with triumph and confidence. "Well you're messing with the wrong person."
Out of sheer willpower, Ara throws a punch but the masked man had already anticipated that move. So Ara finds her face connecting with one of the man's fists, sending her sprawling onto the floor.
Before Ara could stand up, she finds her back on the wall and her body in the air, courtesy of the man's fast movements. Ara only knew one man who had those powers, yet she refused to believe that it was really him.
"Do you know who I am?" The man asks, his grip tightening around Ara's throat. "Do you know all the power I hold?"
Ara spits on the ground, her voice wheezing. "Power you wouldn't have gotten if it weren't for Harrison Wells?"
She had done an excellent job of angering the speedster. He glares at her. "This girl has courage," He says, looking around at all the scared people. "Courage to retort to The Flash. You should know that you can't beat me, that's impossible."
The loud sound of a slap rings throughout the room. Thanks to her metallic body, the contact of her slap allows The Flash to whip his head to the side, a fresh cut marking his cheek. His grip on Ara loosens and she drops to the ground.
"You aren't as fast as you thought, Flash." She says, her mouth believing the truth before her heart could. "I've heard stories about you, good stories. The Saviour of Central City, The Fastest Man Alive, The Hero Millions Look Up To. But now, seeing you in person, it's different, you're nothing but a—"
Despite her metallic property, The Flash delivers a punch that sends Ara flying across the room, her back colliding against the window. Ara falls to the ground and instead of helping her to her feet, the people surrounding her leave her side, afraid for the punishment that will await them. Due to the contact, Ara's power disappears and she finds herself in her own skin, her whole body aching.
The Flash smirks, approaching her slowly. "You're really dumb, you know that, right? Resisting The Flash, almost no one does that. And those who do, die."
Ara heaves a breath, managing to stand up. The bitter taste of metal stings her tongue, blood. "I've heard scarier threats than yours, Flash." In an effort to throw him off, Ara throws a punch directly to his face, but he knew better. The Flash dodges it to narrowly miss a kick to the nose.
