While Gemma cleans and disinfects his wounds I kneel next to him, holding his left hand in both of mine. I slowly rub my thumb in small circles on the top of his hand I think it's helping get his mind off of the pain. I can tell he's holding it in, he tries to keep a straight face while Gemma applies medication to the cuts but I can see the pain in his eyes.

He claims to have been in a tree just watching the pond and on the way down, he fell.

Harry gets moved to his bedroom after given pain medication. Gemma and I stand outside of his room as he lay on his bed.

"I can stay and help you take care of him until your mom gets back." I offer.

"No it's fine that medication I gave him will make him dizzy and confused for a little and then he'll be out like a light."

"Are you sure you don't want me to stay?"

Then I hear a raspy voice from his bedroom, "No. Stay, please."

Gemma yells back to Harry," Harry, you need to rest if you want to feel better!"

"Eden?" he whispers.

"Yes, Harry?" I ask in a hushed tone.

"Eden?" he repeats.

"What is it, Harry?" I ask again standing in the doorway.

"Eden?!" he yells at the top of his lungs.

Gemma turns to me and says,"The drowsiness has kicked in, good luck."

She leaves and walk into Harry's room and sit on the edge of the bed before he pulls my head into his chest.

"Can we get married?" he asks.

"What?" I ask.

"How about tomorrow?" he says stroking my hair.

"I think she have you too much medication, Harry."

"Your hair is soft." he says.

"Thanks."

"It's soft I wonder if it's sweet." he starts to nibble on the ends of my hair. I can't help but laugh at the site.

I lay down next to him and do the same to him.

"Ouch! Stop it, Eden that hurts!"

"Harry, it's your hair it can't hurt."

"Why were you up in a tree anyway, Harry?"

"Nothing." he says, removing his top.

"Harry, why are you taking off your shirt?"

"It's hot in here."

"I'll go ask Gemma to turn on the AC-"

"No. Stay, I like it." He pulls me into a tight hold between his arms where my head rests on his bare chest, I can hear his steady heartbeat, just like that night at the lake.

Right before the medicine takes over he whispers in my ear,
"Love you."

Then, he falls asleep.

It's going to be a thousand times harder than I thought to leave the boy with the beanie.
