The sight of blood startles the crowd and unlocks Robin's frozen family from atop the platform. Maxewell is the first to make it to her, fear plaguing his face, and a confused expression displayed on his forehead. Greg comes up shortly and they both help her to her feet. Embarrassed Robin wipes the bits still on her face and gives them a quick smile to say she's okay. Her mother strolls in with a calm expression with a hint of annoyance.
"You're okay. Now go wash up in the restroom." She says more as a command rather than a question. A confused expression crosses Maxwell, Greg, and Robin's faces. Her mother changes her tone and guides her to the restroom a fake smile caressing her face.
"We'll talk about this at home." she growls then walks out, heading to the banquet area for damage control.
Robin sighs and runs cold water over her face.
That's never happened before....she thinks to herself addressing the blood. The image torments her mind and she decides to think nothing of it, or she'll be even more stressed. Washing out food from her hair Robin hums a tune to herself, tuning out the rest of what is probably going on outside. A soft knock raps on the door and Lois pokes her head in.
Robin internally gasps, scowls, then ignores her so called "friend."
"Robin?" Lois says.
She doesn't answer.
"Are you okay?"
She still doesnt answer.
Sighing Lois shuffles then begins to talk again. "Look I understand you're mad, but at least answer my question."
Robin shakes her head, grabs a paper towel and begins to dry her hair.
"Oh..do you want someone to talk to about it?"
"About what?" Robin frowns turning to face her.
"Well, you know, you've lost a lot of weight." Lois stammers.
"Yes. It's called exercise." she sneers.
"But you've lost a lot of weight."
Glaring Robin completely ignores Lois, throws away her paper towel, and shoves past the brat.
"Hey! I was just trying to help! There's no need to be a jerk about it." Lois frowns trying to block her way.
"Please get out of my way." Robin mutters looking towards the ground.
"Not unless your nicer about it"
"Move before my fist goes down your throat." Robin snarls.
"Fine." Lois growls then walks back to her family's table.
Walking out of the bathroom Robin heads out the door and into the cold night. Leaning against her car she waits for the party to be over, shivering, and sulking. Her eyes begin to get heavy and soon sleep takes over.
Later on, someone pokes Robin in the side and she slowly stirs. Waking up she realizes she fell asleep in the parking lot. That could have been bad. She thinks to herself imagining a car that didn't see her. Greg stands above her reaching out a hand to help her up. She takes it and they're both surprised at how easy it was to lift her. The car ride back is nothing like the one to the party. Robin's mother attempts to reach for Maxwell's hand to hold it, but he pries her fingers off and folds them into fist. The fist is wound so tight that the skin around his knuckles are white. When they get home everyone piles off to bed, without the slightest good night.
Morning comes and Robin's head throbs. Feeling woozy she turns over and flips her pillow pressing the cool fabric to her head. Attempting to sleep the rest of the day away she makes herself comfortable then hears the sound of soft breathing. Cracking open an eye, Greg lies sleeping next to her. Confused she pokes her little brother and he stirs then rolls over. Pinching his sides, he still ignores her. Tickling his sides he snorts then snaps his eyes open.
