Time flew by. Carson and I decided that we needed some new clothes for fall so we went to the mall.

"So this jerk..." Carson began. "That went to your high school just professed his love for you and now won't text or call you?"

"Correct."

"Uh!" She yelled in frustration. "Who does this jer... I mean boy think he is?"

"Just find a parking spot please." We drove around for a few more minutes before finding a spot and going inside the mall. We had a plan. I would go to Forever 21, H&M, Vineyard Vines, and Belk while Carson went to Vans, Pacsun, and some store called Journeys.

"Let's meet at the food court around one, okay?" I asked.

"Sure!" She replied and scurried off. I headed off to Belk. My dad's birthday was this weekend and I wanted to get him a few dress shirts, and possibly and vineyard vines bathing suit.

I searched around Belk for awhile, buying two nice shirts and a cute bow tie before heading to Vineyard Vines.

"Addie?" A voice asked. You have got to be kidding me.

"Hey Luke."

"How have you been?"

"Fine, actually great."

"Addie, I'm sorry I haven't talked to you. I-"

"No, it's okay." I walked off.

"Stop, Addie. My god you're stubborn. I just wanted to talk. Do you want to grab lunch?"

"Uhh," I sighed. "Sure. Let me get this first though." I purchased a nice bathing suit before walking with Luke to the food court. I texted Carson letting her know.

Carson: ahhhh OMG tell me how it goes

Me: okay

"So, how have you been?"

"Luke, you already asked that."

"Sorry, I'm just trying to make a conversation." We continued in silence. "What do you want to get?"

"Hmmm," I thought. "Panda Express." We walked over and got in line. I ordered steak and rice with peppers, onions, and water as my drink.

"I'll get the steamed dumplings please. Oh and a large Dr. Pepper." Luke ordered. He pulled out his wallet.

"I have money," I butted in.

"No, I got it." He paid and we waited for our food.

"At least let me pay you back."

"No," he responded, grabbing our food. "Let's go find a table." It didn't take long to find a table. We sat down and began eating.

"So, what do you want to talk about?"

"Well, I more or less just wanted to sit." I glared at him. "Or we can talk," he said, raising his hands in defense.

"It just doesn't make since to me as to why you take me out on a date, profess your love, and then never talk to me." His jaw dropped. "What?" He didn't reply. "What?!"

"You called it a date."

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did! Ha!"

"Ugh, fine, but that's not what is important." I paused. "So... you do like me?"

"Yeah."

"I feel childish; like middle schoolers." We both laughed. "Don't you think?"

"Yeah," he said still laughing. "But I just wanted to out that out there because I've felt that way for a long time." His tone was back to serious.

"Well, I mean, I have had a long time to think about it and you really are a great guy, Luke."

"So-" he waited.

"I mean we can give it a try if you want."

"Really?!" His eyes lit up.

"Of course; you're an amazing guy, attractive, and beyond sweet so why would I say no?"

"So that's it?" He asked.

"What?" I replied with a mouth full of food. "Sorry."

"Like are we a thing now? Am I your boyfriend?" Hearing him say that was weird but wonderful at the same time.

"Yeah, I guess you are."
