Luke's POV

October 9th is a day I've always dreaded. It's the day my sister passed away. I was always told "Oh- you'll get over it eventually. It won't take long." Blah blah blah.

It's been four years. She would be fourteen. God I miss her so much.

"Luke, you okay?" Addie asked, her voice full of concern.

"Uh, yeah. Just zoned out I guess." She put on a fake smile and squeezed my hand. I knew that she knew something was up. I just didn't know how to tell her that today was the day. She knew about Jacquelyn's death but she didn't know that today was the anniversary.

"Luke, please tell me," she begged. "I'm worried about you."

"Come with me." I stood up and grabbed her hand. I told her to put on some shoes and a jacket and to meet me at the car. She nodded and went to do so. I went into my room to grab my keys and wallet before slipping on my converses.

I walked out of the apartment, letting Ashton know where I was headed, before locking the door. When I got down to my car, Addie was patiently waiting by the door. I unlocked the doors and opened her door before going to my side and getting in.

"Where are we going?" She asked while intertwining our hands.

"Somewhere special." I looked over at her a smiled. The cemetery was around an hour away since its back home but it's totally worth it. Addie fell asleep somewhere along the way so I had to wake her. "Ad?" I softly shook her. "Ad?"

"Hmm?" She moaned.

"We're here." She leaned up and gazed at the scenery around her.

"A cemetery?" She questioned. Then it hit her. "Luke-"

"Come on, let's go." I got out of the car and walked over to her side to open her door. She got out and clasped my hand in hers. We began walking and I finally stopped in front of Jacquelyn's grave. Addie gasped.

"Luke, that's today." Tears begin to form in her eyes. "Lu...Luke," she stuttered.

"What?" I asked.

"Today is when my grandfather died." I looked up and into her eyes.

"What?" I was speechless.

"Yeah." Tears began to flow down her beautiful face.

"No, I'm sorry- I didn't know." I embraced her in my arms and rubbed her back.

"Don't be," she sniffled.

"We can leave..."

"No," she interrupted.

"Well, I think it's time Jacquelyn met you." She smiled at my words and sat down next to me. "Hey Jacquelyn. It's me, Luke. I just came to say hey. But I, I uh brought someone with you. I hope you don't mind." I paused and took a deep breath. "This is Addie. She's my girlfriend. God, I don't even think I can put how amazing she is into words. She uh, well she means the world to me and I," I looked over at Addie who was watching me intently. "I..." God I was so nervous. "I, screw it. Ad I love you. I love you so much it hurts."

Silence fell over us as I looked into Addie's eyes. I couldn't exactly tell what emotion she felt. Tears began to roll down her cheeks again. I moved my hand to her face and wiped the tears away.

"God, Luke. I love you so much it scares me sometimes." This was the best reaction I could have ever gotten in my life. I brought her chin to my lips so we were less than a centimeter apart.

"I love you," I whispered.

"Say it again," She demanded.

"I love you." I paused and kissed her before saying," I love you, I love you, I love you," over and over in between kisses. She started laughing which caused me to smile.

"This makes me so happy," she whispered, leaning her for head against mine.

"What does?"

"The fact that I can say I LOVE YOU!" She yelled before crashing her lips against mine. There were no words for how much I loved Addie. She was my best friend and my all time favorite person in the world.

"Ad?" I asked, breaking the kiss.

"Hmm," she replied.

"Let's go back to home." She nodded and intertwined our hands.

The drive was worth it even though we spent two hours drive and a little under an hour actually at the cemetery. When we got back, I heard Addie's stomach growl.

"You want to get something to eat?" I asked her.

"No," she sweetly smiled. "I'm okay." I wouldn't have it, though. I pulled into the nearest Olive Garden restaurant. It wasn't anything special but there wasn't exactly an occasion. "Luke," she laughed. "I told you that I was okay."

"You might be but I'm not." She laughed again. I got out and opened her door and we walked in together. I quickly locked my car before walking through the door.

"Table for two, please," I told the hostess. She nodded and took us to a table. I pulled out the chair for Addie before sitting in mine.

"Thank you, for showing me that," Addie quietly said as she hid her face from my view.

"I needed to." She looked up and smiled.

"I love you."

"And I love you more."
