Sorry for any mistakes :)

Two months later...

Today was my graduation and I couldn't have been more happier. I was finally graduating college! I was proud of myself, with all the drama that's been going on I was able to still stay on track with my school work.  And to top it all off I'm graduating with honors!

I was standing in front of my mirror in my bathroom with my silk robe  on over my dress. I was straightening my hair and I didn't want to mess up my dress. I applied my mascara and eyeliner and then pink nude lipstick cause I didn't want to do anything crazy. I wanted something simple. I put my bracelets and earrings on then I removed my silk robe and hung it up behind my bathroom door. I walked into my closet and pulled out my black strap platform sandals and

walked in front of my full length mirror giving myself a once over. Happy with my appearance I grabbed my black clutch and phone and headed out to my truck.

"Hey Pooh" Avery said walking up to me and hugging me

"Hey love"

"And hi Auntie's baby! How's Auntie's baby doing?" I said rubbing her belly and felt a kick, making me smile.

"Auntie's baby is sitting on my bladder." she scrunched up her face as he kept moving.

"And stop that, you're getting him excited" she swatted my hand away making me laugh.

"Aww Carter you wearing mommy out?" I said in a baby voice

"Yes he is. I can't wait until he's here cause this shit is for the birds" she said rubbing her stomach.

"Well you got 3 more months to go" I said as she rolled her eyes.

We continued to talk and  both Tasia and Nay had came over and we took some pictures together. I couldn't believe we were all standing here getting ready to graduate.

"Look at my babies about to graduate" my mother said making us all turn around.

All of our family had came over to us hugging us and stuff. I noticed Nay was hanging back and not really saying much, so I excused myself from everyone.

"Hey Nay Bae, what's up?"

"Nothing" she said with glossy eyes

"I know that face. What's wrong?" I looped my arm with hers.

She didn't say anything for a while, she just stared at everyone talking and taking pictures. Then it hit me.

"Nay, don't do this to yourself." I said standing in front of her as I wiped the tears from her face.

"I just wanted them to be here and be proud of me" she broke down even more.

Nay's parents haven't really been parents to her. They put a roof over her head and food in her mouth but that's just about it. Once we got into middle school it was like they didn't really care for her. Never showed up to any of her recitals or games, never really spent much time with her. They were too busy traveling to care for their own child. So for as long as I can remember my parents have been her parents, as well as Avery's parents and Tasia's mom.

"Look at me," I lifted her chin "that's their loss if they don't want to be here to support you. You've come this far without them and you can go even further without them." I stood next to her and held her hand as my father walked over to us.

"What's wrong?" he looked between the two of us. I just gave him a look. He pulled Nay into his chest giving her a hug as she held onto him for dear life.
