ELEVEN AND STRANDED: The Beginning

War

On Mount Olympus the Gods assemble for a war council.  This time they are not discussing war against one another and finding peace but they are discussing the very real possibility of a war they cannot win. Zeus "We must send forth our best heroes from every single camp we have."  Poseidon "If we send our best heroes they might fail and then we will be out of options."  Hades "Brothers this is not about us and it is not about our children, it is about the fate of the whole world."  Zeus "Hades why are you here, I thought I told you to prepare an undead fighting force and to move on Tampalyis-Zuntu."  "Tampalyis-Zuntu was destroyed when I went for an attack.  There was nothing but a pile of rubble.  Whatever hit that place is a larger threat than the Titans.  I've never seen anything like it before."  "What did you see?"  "This was different than anything we have dealt with before, it was almost like our two biggest threats were working together."  Maximus "Forgive me for intruding on this."  Zeus "Son what are you doing here?"  "Father it is like Hades has said, we moved on Tampalyis-Zuntu six weeks prior to his planned attack.  We were met with heavy resistance from both the Giants and the Titans.  Kronos was present during our ambush and so was Tarturus.  Tarturus mentioned something about uniting the two groups and destroying Olympus for good in two years when they could gather their forces.  He mentioned bringing back together the 'Resistance' whatever that means."  "The Resistance, we had a run in with some of them a few years back and we got our butts handed to us.  As we retreated I heard them yell 'the Resistance will succeed and the Gods will fall' which makes us believe it may be a never ending war."

"So you are saying we might not be able to win this one?"  "That is correct, however we may have to team up with a group older than Giants, it may be our only chance."  "Do not team up with them, we cannot trust the Circle of Elders.  The Circle of Elders were the original Gods and have fought numerous battles without the help of any heroes and they have lived secluded in the far reaches of the unexplored territory on Antarctica."  "You seem to have knowledge that even we do not have."  "There is no written record of the Circle of Elders."  "Get out of this war council."  "Negative, you have to listen to me."  Poseidon "Zeus is right Maximus, if we are to have any chance at winning this we will have to take a few risks."  "Poseidon I am sorry to tell you this but if you ask for their assistance they will no you are weak, and if they know you are weak then they will surely take you all out. Even with our help you may not be able to defeat them." "Maximus please, this is a war council and it is to figure out what we are going to do about our current conflict." "I will leave, but I expect to hear from you about the decision. Oh and I have one of my squads posted here on Mount Olympus."  "The Resistance is a mysterious force lead by some unwilling to serve souls.  They refuse to bow down and admit defeat.  The worst part of the resistance is the fact that some of them are entirely human.  Which means we will need to arm our best with Imperial Gold instead of our usual Celestial Bronze."  "Is that a fact?  I met the Resistance once and they requested that I join them or I risk my camp getting wiped off the face of the planet.  So my response was to move my camp and lead a small platoon to fight the Resistance on their home soil.  An attack on home soil is very uncommon these days for many different organizations."

Hades "It's true brother, I had many different souls sent to the Underworld around the same time he had lead his men against the Resistance.  I had souls of monsters in disguise, pure-humans, demigods and I even had some souls that were much older threats, the Mafia and army soldiers.  These were all souls belonging to the same organization."  Zues "Maximus was there anything else you wanted to tell us?"  "Yes father there is one more thing.  Three months ago Jason Grace and Percy Jackson went missing at the same time.  They both showed up at my camp in the Badlands two weeks ago today.  They were pretty messed up in terms of battles they had fought and Jason spotted my camp and had found Percy three miles away from it.  He lead Percy to my camp where they were both checked out by my finest medics.  They were determined battle worthy yesterday and I sent them with one of my patrols to run a recon op in the Northern Badlands because three of my five patrols I sent up there never returned.  Today they will be advancing on a specific area within the Badlands which contains a high concentration of monsters and beasts.  This location also contains an old Titan throne room.  It is my belief that this ancient throne room may be a gathering place for many different groups that are trying to destroy you."  "So you want us to wipe this place off the Earth?"  "Not exactly, but we can make an example of this location.  If we can cause destruction to the point it cannot be repaired then maybe that will be enough of an example.  Once we know for sure I will send a unit to destroy the building."
