"Cash or card?" The cashier asked as she finished scanning my items.

"Cash please." I handed over my money and she handed me the change.

"Have a lovely day." She handed me my bag with a smile and I returned one.

"You too."

As I drove back to the dorms I couldn't help but feel as though I made the wrong decision about Jace. Maybe I should just be his friend? It's not that I don't want to, I'm just trying to keep him safe. But I am in America and Bill is in Australia so maybe he won't find me?

I get back to my dorm and decide to write a list of pros and cons for being friends with Jace.

Pros:
- he seems like a great guy
- Bill is far away
- it would be nice to have some friends
- I would like to let him know that I do actually like him

Cons:
- I don't really know him that well
- Bill might find me
- he could get hurt

I couldn't think of anymore and counting them there were more pros so my decision is final. I will befriend Jace.

After I organised my stationary I was about to leave to go to the coffee shop but just as I opened the door Harry stood there looking as if he was about to knock.

"Harry? What are you doing here? Leah's not here."

"I know. She told me she was moving out. We had this big fight and she told me that we're shouldn't be friends anymore because I was taking your side and not hers."

"Harry I'm so sorry." I moved over indicating for him to enter. He came inside and stood awkwardly in the middle the room.

"You can sit if you would like?" I suggested softly. I wasn't sure what frame of mind he was in so I thought I better play it safe.

He simply nodded and sat on my bed. I sat next to him with my legs crossed and facing him while he sat facing Leah's bed.

"What did you mean she doesn't want to be your friend?"

"Just that. She doesn't trust me anymore. Four years of friendship and she's throwing it all away because of her new college roommate."

Ouch. I'll try not to take that personally.

"I'm not blaming you I just think she's being stupid and immature about this whole thing. I still can't believe she slapped you."

I stayed quiet. I just want to forget about Leah and start fresh. If that's going to happened I can't be talking about her every five seconds.

"What did you say to her?" I asked.

"I told her to go to hell."

"Harry that was the perfect opportunity to tell her what really happened between you two. She is making you feel bad about not agreeing with her on the most insignificant topic when she practically cheated on you. How can you keep this from her?"

"Honestly, I don't know. I didn't want to ruin our friendship."

"So what's stopping you now?"

"Well... nothing. I guess there's nothing."

"You should go and tell her Harry. You need to resolve this. You need closure."

"I know."

"Here, pass me your phone." He gave me a questioning look but gave it to me anyway. I put my number in and handed it back to him. "Let me know how it goes, yeah?"

"Really? You care what happens?" He almost laughed at my caring but seemed to think better of it.

"Of course I care. I would have a lot worse than a lightly bruised cheek if you hadn't of stopped Leah." I smiled reassuringly and he looked down and smiled to himself.
