Harry's POV

The walk home was long and by the time I reached my bed I should've passed out moments later. I needed sleep and a lot of it, but it wouldn't come. All I could think about was never getting to see Leah again. Never getting to hear her laugh again or see her face light up each time she'd get a new tattoo would be too much to handle.

The fact that we didn't end on good terms is killing me. The last words I spoke to her were anything but what friends should say and I can never take them back or apologise, and I have to live with that for the rest of my life.

I need someone right now. I always act like I'm this big tough guy but deep down, I need someone; just like everyone else.

Scrolling through my contacts I reached her name, the name I always come back to, the name I deny needing but know that I'm only lying to myself.

"Piper?"

Piper's POV

"So he was..."

"Different." I finished Hunters sentence referring to our professor.

"I guess you could say that." He chuckled as we walked to the cafeteria to meet Sarah.

"Are you sure you want to come? I mean after all, you said it yourself that she isn't your biggest fan right now."

"She's my sister." He plainly stated. "She can't hate me forever."

I didn't answer him because I didn't need too. He was right, she can't hate him forever. They are blood after all and she needs to know that Hunter was only trying to do what was best for her.

Sarah spotted me as I entered and smiled, but that quickly faded when she saw who was behind me. "Hunter?!" She questioned in disbelief.

"Hey little sis." He smiled, nerves racking his body as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"What the hell are you doing here?! How do you two even know each other?" I could tell she was barely containing her anger but I was grateful that she was, I didn't want to cause a scene.

"We have a class together." I said. "And I was nervous I wouldn't make any friends!" I laughed nervously but her expression didn't change.

"I would've rathered you didn't make any at all. You don't want to be friends with him Piper. He'll ruin your life."

"I didn't ruin your life, I made it better. Trent was bad news and you just wouldn't accept that. He treated you like dirt Sarah."

"No he didn't! I loved him and you drove him away and for that, I can never forgive you."

"Sarah please. I'm your brother." He pleaded as she stood up to walk away.

She stopped walking to answer him, yet didn't turn around. "Not anymore."

As those words left her mouth I gasped. How could she say that? Hunter is her own flesh and blood and she just threw him aside like he was nothing. Hunter stood completely still as he watched her leave. I placed my hand on his shoulder as a form of comfort.

"She didn't mean it. I'm sure she didn't."

"I wouldn't be surprised if she did."

"Hunter you--" I was cut off my the sound of my phone ringing from my pocket. Harry's name flashed on the screen but I chose to ignore him. Hunter needed me right now and frankly, I didn't want to speak to Harry.

"Do you want to get out of here?" I asked gently and he shook his head yes considering first day orientation was over. "Then let's go."
