When the final bell sounded at the end of the day, Jin hesitantly agreed to go to Jimin's place with everyone else. Everyone saw how bad his face looked, but Jin shrugged it off by saying that he fell down the stairs to math on the way up. Everyone bought it, even though Namjoon looked really skeptical. On the way to Jimin's, Jin was walking on the curb, listening in to everyone elses conversations.

"You should really invite Mea, you two don't even hang out much." Hoseok stated to Namjoon.

"I guess."

"Besides, Jin hasn't met her yet." Jin looked over immediately and gave a questioning look.

"Mea is his girlfriend. She's pretty much the most awesome person in school." Jin's heart dropped.

Of course.

How could someone like that be gay?

Jin honestly forgot about the possibility of Namjoon having a girlfriend. It all got lost in his mind when they met.

It's not like you had a chance anyway.

He knew. Like a lot of things, he knew already. He didn't have to tell himself.

"I'll call her now." Namjoon said, walking to the side to invite his girlfriend. Jin carried on walking but got stopped by Yoongi.

"Jin, Jimin's house is here." He pointed it out as if Jin had been there before. They all entered and got comfortable, Namjoon came back too, saying that Mea would be there shortly. He took a seat next Jin and started talking with everyone.

Jin sat there worrying. He'd texted his mother that he was going out today, but he'd gotten no response. She might still be asleep. At least, that's what he was hoping for.

Five minutes later, a delicate knock was heard, and Jin sunk as Namjoon got up to answer. The girl at the door was far from mediocre. She was beautiful, her black straight hair went down past her chest and her figure was unbelievable. Jin looked at her eyes, they looked kind. Mea stepped into the house and everyone greeted her.

Jin wanted to like her. He didn't know her enough to dislike her, but he did. He didn't want her here, but he couldn't tell her to leave. Just walk up to her like 'hi I really like your straight boyfriend so please can you just go' it doesn't work that way. If it did, Jin would have already kicked her out.

"Hello? Hi, you're Jin, right? I'm Mea. It's really nice to meet you." She smiled full heartedly and made Jin feel like they could get along for a second. "Y-yeah hey."

"You look a bit hurt, what happened?" Jin nearly rolled his eyes, but Namjoon stepped in. "Come on hun, don't bother him like that."

Everything gets sort of still after that. Nothing exciting, just people talking amongst themselves. Jin was thankful that the attention wasn't on him.

Jin had his eyes on Namjoon and Mea for the majority of the time. He was watching when Namjoon put his arm around her, when she laughed at his jokes, and when they shared smiles. He was watching when she acted cute for him, and they both laughed.

They're happy.

You don't need to be.

You don't deserve it.

Guess what? He knew. He understood that he didn't need something like that, it was too happy. He understood that he's lucky to have what he's got. Namjoon has someone beautiful with a kind heart and that's what he deserves. Jin sighed and tried to stop thinking.

Jin walked home alone this time. Namjoon walked Mea and that was understandable. He thought back to when they both laughed with each other like couples do, and questioned when he last laughed like that. He couldn't remember, all of his laughs were half hearted.

He understood that he didn't deserve to laugh in the way that Mea and Namjoon did. He understood fully well but...

He craved it.

They looked so happy, it was refreshing. Jin wondered what they were doing now. He didn't know why it mattered but he wanted to know.

Jin's mind enveloped itself in thought as he put his key in the door and turned the handle delicately. He entered his house and looked around, seeing a note on the kitchen table, barely visible due to cans of beer and jerky packets.

Me and your father are out for the week.

Don't run out of food, we haven't left any money. It might actually do you good to limit your food anyway.

See you in a week, Pretty boy.

Jin crumbled the note in his fist and sighed. This wasn't the first time his parents left without a warning but it was the longest they've left. That's why she didn't respond to his text.

Jin felt dizzy and eventually collapsed.
