Part 1

Angel's pov

"Come on micah your dad will be here any minute to get you" I told my soon to be 1 year old son. Time really flies when your being a mom. My baby was just a new born a few months back and now he's learning how to walk and talk. He's growing up too fast.

"I go with dada?" He said smiling. I nod my head and pick him up kissing his cheek.

"Yup. You go with dada" I said. Just then the doorbell rang and I knew it had to be king.

"Hey" I said opening the door.

"Hello" king said stiffly. I rolled my eyes and handed him micah along with his bag.

"Could you bring him back early Sunday morning. Me and aiden want to take him to sesame place" I said.

King scrunched up his face." Hell no. I don't know why you continue to bring that asshole around micah after I repeatedly asked you not to. How disrespectful can you be? This dude is trying to play daddy to my kid and your just letting him" he said.

Before I could speak I was cut off by micah." Daddy no say bad words" he said pouting. King's face softened as he looked at his son.

"I'm sorry buddy. Daddy didn't mean to say that" king said rubbing his back. Me and king learned early on that micah was a sensitve child. He didn't like to see or hear me and king fighting at all. So we tried to keep it as civilized as we could in front of him.

"Look king. Aiden isn't trying to take your place. I would never let that happened. But he is someone that I'm dating so of course I want him and micah to get along" I explained.

King scoffed. " your really naive if you believe that. Anyway I wanted to ask you something" he said.

"What is it?"

"Jessica's baby shower is this Saturday and I was wondering if you would be cool letting me bring micah" he said.

This man has lost his mind. In what world would I be okay letting my son go to the woman who fucked up my relationship baby shower. " absolutely not. I will not have my son around that whore. You can go for all I care but my son isn't" I said reaching out for micah.

King stepped back. " what are you doing? This is my weekend with my son. You can't take that away from me. And second I want my son to be with me celebrating the birth of his sibiling" what's so wrong with that" he said.

Was he serious? " everything is wrong with that. Micah will be a outsider among all those people. And second I honestly don't know if I want my son even around this new baby. He doesn't need to be confused by all this because of your mistake"

"Angel you can't be serious right now"

I crossed my arms and glared at him. "I'm dead serious. Plus didn't you say you didn't even know if this baby was yours or not?"

"Well yeah I plan on getting a paternity test done when the baby's born. Just to be on the safe side" he said.

"Well when that happens and you do happen to be the father then come talk to me. Until then I don't want micah around that woman or her child" I said.

King sighed." Fine angel. I'll respect your wishes. I guess I'll leave micah with uncle robert while I go to the shower" he said.

I nod my head and kiss micah goodbye. " thank you for respecting my wishes " I tell him.

King's pov

The next day.......

"You ready to go buddy" I said fixing micah's shirt. He nodded his head and smiled.

"Daddy cake" He said. I laughed, micah had a bit of a sweet tooth. I guess you could blame me and my uncle for that. Everytime we took him out somewhere we always brought him junk food. And one day uncle robert had brought home a whole chocolate cake and ever since then micah's favorite snack is cake no matter what kind.

"Yes you can have cake as long as you behave and don't tell mommy" I said. He nodded his head in aggreement.

Jessica's baby shower

"Finally king! What took you so long. All my family is already here. They want to meet you" jessica said.

"My bad I had to get micah dressed" I said. Jessica looked at micah who I was holding on my hip. To my surprise she smiled and waved at him.

"Hey handsome. You look so cute. I'm glad you came with daddy" she said. Micah smiled and clapped his hands.

"Cake" he said happily. Jessica laughed and rubbed her stomach.

"Yup there's lots of cake. Come on I'll get you a cupcake" she said holding her arms out. I opened my mouth to protest but to my surprise micah reached out for her.

That was a first. My son didn't usually let people hold him unless it was me, his mom or grandma or grandpa. So after a few minutes of hesitation I handed him over to jessica.

"Don't worry he's safe with me" she said before walking off. I stood there and watched them as they made their way to the desert table.

As I watched jessica interact with my son this warm feeling came over me. I've never seen this side of jessica, its like she was a totally different person. Maybe motherhood was making her a better person inside and out.

As I continued to stare at jessica I couldn't help but think this nurturing side of her was beautiful.......
