Part 16

Angel's pov

A few weeks later...

Things haven't been the same since me and king had that conversation a few weeks ago. I mean of course we still communicate because of micah but other than that I don't hear a word from him.

I had to admit it was weird having king be distant with me. And on top of all that I still haven't heard from odell since the day of micah's party.

I knew he was hurt because I didn't want him at micah's party but damn I didn't think he would be mad this long. Maybe I should go see him.

A knocking at the door broke me out of my thoughts. I wasn't expecting any company right now. When I opened the door I was shocked to see king on my door step... with micah.

"Hey what are you doing here? Did something happen to micah" I asked frantically as I grabbed micah out his arms.

Micah giggled as I inspected him all over. " no nothings wrong. I just came to tell you I can't take micah tonight. I have something to do" king said looking down at his phone.

"Oh really? So important that you can't watch your own son " I Said.

King sighed." Let's not do this in front of micah" he said softly.

As I opened my mouth to speak micah cut me off." Mommy can I go watch paw patrol" micah said.

" yes sweetie your tablet should be on your bed" I told him. After hearing that he jumped out of my arms and ran to his room.

After making sure micah was gone I turned my attention back to king." So back to you being too busy for your son" I said.

"Don't put words in my mouth I never said that. You know I have no problem watching my son , its just today isn't a good day" he said.

I didn't understand why king was avoiding my question. "Well are you gonna tell me what you have going on today?" I asked.

"No I'm not. Because its none of your business and last time I checked Im a single adult who answers to nobody" he said bluntly.

" you know what your absolutley right. Enjoy your day king" I said slamming the door.

If that's the game king wanted to play then fine. " micah! Wanna go to odell's house?"

Odell's house

Now that I was standing in front of odell's door I wasn't so sure about this. What if he had another girl here? Oh lord I don't want my son to see me get arrested.

"Mommy are you gonna knock?" Micah asked.

" yeah" I said with a grimace. As I reached my hand out to knock the door flew open revealing odell.

"Angel? What are you doing here?" He asked.

" I haven't heard from you in a few weeks so I came to see you. But by your reaction I can tell your not happy to see me" I said.

"Angel that's not it... I've just been busy " he said.

I chuckle and shake my head." Like I haven't heard that line before. Just admit it, your seeing someone else" I said.

"What? Why would I do that when I'm dating you" he said grabbing my hand.

" what else am I suppose to think. I haven't heard from you in weeks odell" I said.

He scratched the back of his head and gave me a sheepish look. " I know and I'm sorry for that. My feelings were hurt and I just needed sometime to myself , plus I have been super busy with preparing for the upcoming season" he told me.
