*Hey guys, I was wondering if there was a specific time you wanted me to update. I've just been kinda doing it whenever but if you wanted me to start setting up times for me to do it every two weeks or so, then that would be great. Please leave comments and votes.*
Today was the day I had to go back to school from the short winter break. I could smell my mother's cooking of bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs as I rolled out of my bed and struggled to the bathroom sink. When I looked up at the mirror, I saw a tired face staring back at me. I had high cheek bones just as my mother but hazel eyes as my father. Black hair fell around my face down to my caramel shoulders. I was mixed with both of the black and white race. My mother was black and my father was white.
I did my daily routine. I went to the shower, brushed my teeth, pulled my hair up into a ponytail, then changed my clothes all in 30 minutes. I wore a teeshirt, hoodie, a pair of jeans and sneakers. I threw my book bag over my shoulders and ran downstairs towards the kitchen through the living room. The living room was the first thing you would find as you entered the front door. The stairs were to the right pressed against the wall, and the fireplace was to the left on the wall with a flat screen T.V. beside it, a wooden coffee table and sofa in front of it. Further in the house is a door that leads to the kitchen that was connected to the dining room.
When I entered, I sat down as my mother sat a plate in front of me and began to eat. "Be careful not to let anyone upset you," she said. "I don't want anyone getting hurt, or anyone exposing us." I rolled my eyes, but nodded in response. After I was finished, I began to walk towards the door, but stopped. "Mom, can I use the keys to your car?" There was a long road surrounded by trees on the side of the house that led into the town. Mom had parked the car beside the road so it would easier to leave.
"Well why can't you take the bus," she had responded. "Because it takes like a two mile walk to get to the stop, why would I do that when I can just take your car to school." She sighed, then pulled the keys from her pocket and jingled it in the air. A grin creeped from my lips. "Thanks mom," I said as I grabbed the keys and left.
As I drove off, I stopped by my best friend Cecilia's house and picked her up. "Sup Kore," she said as she got in.
"Hey Cece," I said. Cece was a strawberry blond that kept up with the latest trends. She's funny, and very trust worthy. I've known her ever since we were little. She had on a long sleeve turtle neck and a demi vest and jeans.
"So, have you spoken to Caleb over the break," Cece asked me.
"Uhh, no, he hasn't even texted me, or bothered to check on me." I sighed. "Maybe he was busy."
"Busy?" She argued "We had two full freaking weeks of winter break, that's fourteen days and he couldn't even use a single one of it to call you."
"Cece, chill, ok? Two weeks of being without contact isn't gonna kill someone."
"Mm hmm, well what kinds of things could he be doing in the winter, other than snuggle next to a pretty girl, that isn't you I might add, I front of a warm fireplace getting "busy". I looked surprised at Cece. Did she seriously just accused my boyfriend of doing something punishable by death?
"Are you suggesting that he's cheating on me?" I asked. At my school, all any of the guys cared about was getting laid. Most of the popular girls would sleep with them and tell everyone that she was "taking care of his needs."
"Well, you know how guys get. They get bored quickly and wants more entertainment."
"Are you saying that I'm probably boring him?" My voice got louder at the end. "No! It's just that your mom won't let you, you know, and that he could just be feeling lonely or something."
I sighed. "Thanks but, I have faith in him, and I don't think he would ever cheat on me just because I never gave him what he wanted."
"Look sis," Cece said as she got out of the car and headed for the school building. "I'm just trying to look after you. I just don't like seeing you hurt."
I rolled my eyes and entered the school. It was a normal school just like any other. There were four different halls separating the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Freshmen and sophomores were on the first floor while juniors and seniors were on the second. Me and Cece were both juniors so we went up to the second floor to go to our classes. My first class had none of my friends in there so I knew I would be completely alone. I went to my locker, got my books, and forced myself into this misery.
After what felt like an eternity, but had been only an hour, I was in triumph as the bell rang, releasing us from our torture. "One class down, seven more agonizingly boring classes to go." I thought to myself.
After going to class after class, I only had one more until lunch. As I grabbed my books out my locker, I noticed that Caleb never spoke to me, not even once. I knew he was here, I've seen him walk up and down the halls without even acknowledging me.
I started walking briskly down the hall to his locker where I saw him making out with Loretta.
