Kora POV
"Can I help you?" I asked the man, I now know as Ashton. He had a dark completion and beautiful grey eyes. He didn't look a day over 20 but his eyes told a different story, and I could see his muscular arms and chest through the shirt. He was amazingly beautiful and I could feel a pull toward him."What's your name," he asked me.
"Yes, because the first thing a person does when they enter the forest and see a cabin in the middle of it, is ask the person that lives there their name," my voice was coated in sarcasm. He gave me an awkward look and I sighed. "Sorry, I just get a bit sarcastic when I've had a rough day."
"Oh?" He said. "How rough?" I got annoyed with his sudden interest of my life story.
"Look, Ashton, I know you didn't come all the here just to talk about my personal life, so what are you here for," I said with an annoyed voice.
"Well," he said as he stepped closer to me. "I'm in need of you help." As he got closer, the amazing scent radiating off of him was breath taking. I could feel something inside of me connecting him to me instantly. My hands where shaking and my breathing got heavier and heavier.
"Wha, wha," I cleared my throat. "What do you need help with," I said as I shifted to my left. I couldn't help but notice my eyes glowing from my reflection through the window and instantly pulled out a pair of sunglasses out the opened car door.
"Why do you wear sunglasses in the middle of the winter," Ashton said as he looked up to the sky. "The suns not even up."
"I, uhh, my mom told me to when..." I trailed off praying that he didn't see my eyes glowing.
"So she's like you too?"
"What? Like me? Like me how? I mean, what do you mean she's like me?" I stumbled with my words. I knew he saw my eyes glow, it was obvious, but how did he know what I was? And how did he know what my mom was?
"I mean, like a werewolf. Like me."
My whole body felt numb and my heart and head was pounding like crazy. "I mean, like a werewolf. Like me." Those words repeated in my head as hope that there was finally someone that I could relate to.
"Excuse me, excuse me," I could hear his voice as it snapped me out of my haze. "Are you okay? May I ask you your name now?"
"Oh, uhh, yes, my name is Kora," I smiled and pulled my hand out for him to shake it. Once his hand touch mine, I instantly felt the warmness of his touch that I've never felt in my life and melted into it. "Hey," I said quickly. "Do you want to come inside and meet my mom."
"Sure," he said with a smile as I took him with me to inside my house.
As we walked in, I shut the door behind me and called my mom. I took Ashton to sit down on the couch as we waited for my mom to come. It didn't take long before we heard the sounds of footsteps coming down the stairs.
"What do you want, Kora, I'm bu-" my mom started when her eyes laid on Ashton. "You." She said. I could see the anger begin to fill in her eyes but continued to keep her cool.
"Ashley?" Ashton said surprised. "This is your mother?" He asked me, his face was a bit upset.
"You know each other?" I asked.
My mom walked closer to Ashton. "How dare you come into my house after the way you and your pack mates treated me," she asked angrily.
"I didn't know that it was you who lived here, besides, Kora brought me in," Ashton answered.
"Don't bring me into this," I said.
"Kora," said my mom. "I need to talk to this man alone." She tilted her head towards the stairs indicating that she wanted me to go to my room.
"Mom, I'm old enough to-" I was cut off by her glare and quickly made my way up the stairs. When my mom is angry as she is now, you do as your told no questions asked.
