Mine

Like any normal couple, there are trials and tribulations that needed to be overcome. Such as this for Maine and RJ. This chapter is just the beginning.

6:30 am
RJ and Maine are both getting ready to head to work. Maine still has 4 days left of vacation before she goes back but today is different. Today is the last Thursday of the month and it's the monthly leadership meeting in FBU. The leadership is composed of the unit manager, the PCC's, the doctors and midwives. Every month one of the PCC's will present 4 case studies to the leadership and the group would come up with proposals and/or recommendations. The meeting usually runs for 4 hours. As one of the PCCs, it's Maine's turn to present today.

It's been almost 2 weeks since RJ moved in, well, sort of. They haven't really officially called it moving in but he now occupies half of Maine's walk in closet. It started out as 1 shirt then it became 5 and now he probably has more clothes here than in his condo. The best part about all these is that RJ and Sebastian are developing a father and son relationship as if the first 15 months didn't happen. Everyday, Sebastian searches for his dad more than her. Maine feels a little jealous but she can't hold on to that feeling for long when she sees RJ and Sebastian together. RJ on the other hand seemed to have settled right into this fatherhood business. He even bought a car seat for his 'bachelor's SUV' so they don't need to keep transferring the car seat from her car. He's been so attentive and oh so very patient with their son that up till now, it brings tears to her eyes. He's taken over putting Sebastian to sleep every night (except when he's on call) which in turn gives Maine a bit of time to read before she gets ready for bed. They haven't really talked about what level their relationship is but Maine is starting to get antsy. Her sisters were right! She loves RJ! She doesn't know when and how it happened but she is hopelessly in love with him. There's no point in denying anymore Mendoza! But like any other woman with insecurities, she sometimes wonder if RJ feels the same or does he just feel obligated because she's the mother of his child. Ugh!

Oh but the sex life! Damn! Remember that time when Maine wished for a sex life. Well, the sex fairy godmothers have listened and Hallelujah!! They blessed her with much abundance in that department. If you force her to count how many times they've had sex in the last 2 weeks, she will have to use her teeth cause her fingers and toes are not enough. There's not a corner nor a counter in the house they haven't touched. Even the garage was baptized. There's not a part of her body that RJ hasn't worshipped. One would think that there is no minor in the house. Couple of times, RJ came home around 2:30pm because he says he needed her. And yes, they would fuck while their son naps in his room. Maine has learned how to gauge RJ's moods by the way he makes love (yes, she's saying make love, cause that's how she feels. But he doesn't need to know that) to her. In times that he's extra clingy, she knows he's having a bad day at work. On days that he fucks her ever so slowly, she knows he's tired. And on those times, he fucks her hard and fast, well that means he's just really horny. It's surprising she can still walk straight! Ha! Yap! That much! Yeah that's right, Mendoza, brag about it! Who's the goddess! MEH! I'm the goddess!

Maine knows that this little bubble of happiness they're riding on has lasted this long because her sisters have been very supportive of her. Both her sisters have covered up for her when Nicolas started asking why they don't see each other anymore. Nicki has reminded her numerous times though that their parents have to be told about RJ. One big factor why she hasn't yet was because their parents were away on a 12 day Hawaiian cruise BUT they have arrived yesterday. Maine is actually surprised that they haven't shown up at her doorstep yet. She blamed it on jetlag. However, she can't shake this feeling of apprehension and impending doom.
