I slowly got up glancing at my friends for support, then followed him out into the halls. I stared at the white tiled floor as he led me towards where we were always experimented on. I knew my way without his help so I didn't bother trying to memorise the halls for an escape, I already knew them.

The door to the testing room was opened and as I walked in; the blond man closed the door behind me. This was normal, it was just like going to a doctor's office, when you are left alone before the doctor comes in.

I sat down on the normal hospital bed that was cleaned. I had flashes back to when I had been cut open on the bed. They had done exploratory surgery on me, trying to find the source of where our magic came from. I rubbed along the scar that went from my bellybutton to just below my neck. I had been knocked out for the surgery, thankfully, but I had no pain medication upon waking up.

I shuddered thinking about the months of painful recovery.

The door slowly creaked open and a 30 year old looking man came in. He was the normal Taker I saw. There were a few others who helped him, but he did most of the research and experiments himself.

He ducked down so he didn't hit his head on the door frame as he walked in. He gave me a cold smile that didn't reach his dull blue eyes and after running a hand over his short white hair, he started questioning me.

"How do you feel today?"

I thought for a second, not because I needed to find a way to explain how I was feeling, but because I was trying to figure out if lying would do me any good.

His evil grin faded as he watched me. "What did we say would happen if you didn't cooperate?"

I flinched wondering how he could tell. "I feel like something is missing." I sighed deciding to play it safe for now.

He nodded seeming happy with this. "Do you feel less powerful?

"Kinda." I said hesitantly.

"Explain kinda." He snapped.

"Well," I started "I don't feel weak physically, but my blood doesn't feel like it's flowing as strong." As I said these words I realized that maybe my magic had been growing and I just hadn't realized it. I resisted the urge to smile. Knowing that my powers had been growing made me feel better about myself.

I looked at the old man and noticed a frown on his face. He looked worried.

"I need to do some blood tests."
