8CT Fort Garry

chapter 1

I wake up and I think is just a regular Monday but today isn't. Today is the day my class and I get to go to Fort Garry for a whole week!! I get up, dressed and double check that I have everything packed. Then a thought came, how will I get all my luggage to school if I am walking... I text izzy to see if she has a ride.

Hey!! R u getting a ride 2 school 2day??

Ya I am ally, need a ride?

I check to see if I have my permission form ready and grab a piece of toast with chocolate sprinkals and put my luggage by the door. My mom walks out of her bedroom still in her pj's and says "Good morning honey. Did you have a good sleep? Are you all packed? Do you have your permission form? Did you eat something? Are you excited?" I respond with " yup I am all good to go. Izzy is coming to pick me up now so I have to get my stuff outside." " make sure you dress very warm." Says mom " why? I am staying in a hotel for a week...." i reply " there is supposed to be a snowstorm on Wednesday and if your bus breaks down..." mom says " ok, ok I will." I get on my jacket and just as I walk out the door I call out " love you mom!" My mother replies with " love you too, sweetheart" And I walk into Izzy's vehicle. When I get into the car the radio is on and it is reading off the weather for this week. On Tuesday it should be -42 degrees cloudy with a wind chill and prepare for Wednesday because it is supposed to be -56 degrees snowstorm with 30 inches of snow! We will assuming that the roads will be closed that day so don't go anywhere! The snowstorm should last till Saturday. Izzy's mom turns down the radio and says

" what if there is an emergency and you can't get home?" Izzy replies just as we are about to get out, "we will be fine, mom, really" " Oh,  ok izzy see you next week girls!" Izzy's mom says as she drives away.
