"Rain.... Where are you?"

My head snaps up, glancing quickly around the room. Everyone is still working, but there's only five minutes left of class. I quickly pack up my things and sit up in my seat.

As the bell rings, I stand up, slipping my backpack onto my shoulders. I walk out the door, running waiting just outside the classroom. Liz walks out and glances at me.

"Come on, you need to eat." I laughs and walks to the lunchroom.

"Nah, I really don't. But I will." I smirk and poke her shoulder. "I didn't eat this morning, so yeah, I'm pretty hungry."

We walk into the packed cafeteria, trying to find spots in line to get food. I settle for the a la carte line, taking out five dollars from my back pocket. I pay for my food, getting a small slice of pizza, a Powerade and a cookie.

"Holy crap, this line is expensive..." I walk towards one of the doors, heading back to my tree.

"HEY RAIN!!!"

I look across the street to see Raven running towards me.

"What are you doing here?" I wait for him as he finally reaches me, struggling to catch his breath.

"You said, 'Come back tomorrow', so I'm here now!" He laughs and I start walking to my tree again.

"I didn't mean come visit me at school..." I dash up the tree, scraping my hands on the thick bark.

I grab my food that I set on a lower branch and start eating. I think about what he said about Liz.

"Hey, Raven, come up here."

"You know I'm no good with heights, man." I scoff as he sits at the base of the tree and pulls out the PSP. He plugs in a cartridge and the sounds start going.

"Wuss." I plug in some earbuds and loop one over my ear without putting it in my ear so I can still hear him. "So I talked to Liz today. You were right about her leaving on my ninth birthday."

I pick up my pizza, picking off the pepperoni, and eating them one by one. I take a bite and look down at Raven.

"Yeah. I guess I remember more than you do, huh?"

"Yeah, I guess so." I look out to the clouds.
