I sit at my desk, my special drawing pencil in my hand

I sit at my desk, my special drawing pencil in my hand. I draw a few lines on a piece of paper.  I draw the hair and then the outline of the head. It looks too much like a dog..... I crumble up the piece of paper and throw it into the trash bin.

I stand up, putting my art supplies away. I head for the door, having already taken my morning shower. It's raining again and I smile.

I walk out the door and look up into the grey-filled clouds. The rain pours onto my face, drenching my skin.  I look back down to the ground and start walking to school.

I walk past Liz's road, watching her walk down the street. I stop and wait for her at the crosswalk. She catches up and smiles at me.

"Good morning, Rain." She starts walking across the crosswalk, me walking right beside her.

"Mornin'." I adjust my drenched hair, shaking it a little bit. Little droplets fly off my hair and hit the ground.

I walk silently, balancing on the edge of the curb. I slip off and jump back onto the sidewalk.

She doesn't say a word.

"Is something wrong, Liz?" I look at her curious as to her quietness.

"I-I.... I'm..." She stops suddenly. I stop her and look into her emerald eyes.

"What's wrong?" It surprises me when she hugs me and starts sobbing softly.

"I-I'm leaving again...."

My eyes go wide.

"B-but why?! I still have so many questions...." I hug her back and try to comfort her as much as possible. "It's going to be okay. At least we got to see each other, right?"

"Y-yeah.." She sniffles and I pull out of the hug and grip onto her shoulders.

"It's fine. This time, I'll make sure that we are both able to say good-bye." I smile at her reassuringly. "But right now, we need to go to school." I laugh and squeeze her shoulder lightly. "Come on."

"Okay..."

I let go of her shoulders and scrub the top of her head. I start walking towards the school again, the rain starting to let up.

"Aw, man..." I sigh, "The rain's going away."

Liz laughs and I smile at her.

"Maybe you're right, Rain. Maybe it's all going to be okay." She smiles and wipes away her tears.

" She smiles and wipes away her tears
