My mom made sure to call everyone one possible on the car ride home. Now I say in my room in silence. My mom has already gone to bed.

Staring at my phone screen my finger hovered over the call button as my mind battled itself trying to think on if I should call Amber or not.

Sighing I pressed the button and slowly held it to my ear.

"I'm sorry but the phone number you're trying to reach does not exist." The female robot informed me on the other side of the phone.

I haven't talked to Amber on the phone I'm forever. How long has her phone been like this? Going to Instagram I went to her profile and stuff hasn't been posted in the last two weeks, same with Facebook and Twitter.

What has happened to her? I lay in bed my phone laying on my stomach as my mind races to find out this mystery.

"JACKSON!" My mom was violently shaking me.

I opened my eyes and blinked a few times. I must have fallen asleep some point in time.

"You start work today."

"Oh yeah." I sat up fast and reached out to the side of my bed. No oxygen tank. IM CANCER FREE. That ugly green thing has been there the past three years and I'm not sad to say I don't miss it.

We pulled into the restaurant give minutes later and I bid my good bye to my mom before heading in the doors. First job in three years. I'm excited.

"Jackson." My moms friend (the manager) greeted me and I shot a smile.

"Hey Penny."

"Alright, you will be working with Nicole. She will be helping you for your first day. I have to run an errand but I will be back before your shift is over."

I nodded and she departed as Nicole took her spot. Yes Nicole as in Ryan's girlfriend an it turns out she's way nicer than I'd imagine.

It was half way through my shift and it was time to try a table on my own. Grabbing my order pad I walked to the newly sat table.

"Hello I'm Jackson and I'll be your waiter today." I looked up and my smile immediately fell.

"Jackson? As in my school stole my girlfriend Jackson?" Ryan's eyes were wide and his mouth was open.

"The one and only."

"Where the ugly green thing and the tubes?!"

"Got test results yesterday 100% cancer free." I said it proud because hell I was proud. I beat cancer without medicine.

"No way."

"Way. Now are you going to order or what?" I was getting impatient.

"Can you get Nicole?"

More than glad to i thought as I spun on my heals but when my eyes fell upon Nicole she was wide eyed and shaking her hand while shaking her hand telling me no.

"I'm afraid you'll have to deal with me." I told Ryan once I faced him again.

"Fine I'll take my usual."

"Ooh, too bad I don't know what that is."

"Ask Nicole."

"Okay so that'll be sewer water with a shit paty?" I started walking away.

"VADER!"

Spinning on my heels again I looked him dead in the eye. "Actually Ryan I am no longer your father. Here's a thought how about you do everyone in this restaurant a favor and get the hell out of this place because all that shit coming from your mouth is kind of stinking up the place and people are trying to eat."

He blinked a few times before standing up, kicking his chair back and leaving the restaurant.

Slowly there was claps until the whole place was filled with it. Nicole and all the high schoolers and some young adults were clapping and looking at me.

Making a quick walk to the kitchen I cooled off. "That was amazing." Nicole was standing in front of me.

"Someone had to give him the hint to brush his teeth." I forced a chuckle.

She just stood there and looked at me for a second before quickly closing the distance between us and kissing me.

I have started work again and summers almost here so I don't know if I can update in the summer. My goal right now is to finish this story before I get out of school. SHOW ME SUPPORT PLEASE.
