"Just go to the living room, remember the rules" I heard Dan say from the top of the stairs.

Rules? Silence greeted him, just the pat of footsteps coming my way. I got away from the stairs, heading towards the den like living room. Serena came in, she looked hot. Hot to the point that I questioned why Danny chose Meme over her. When she sat as far from me as possible that's when oddly I saw her more, she had put on make up. Her hoodie was zipped all the way up even though it wasn't that cool in the living room. I turned on the tv, she looked so pensive staring at the floor. Meme entered the living room and seemed to contemplate leaving.

"I have to go the bathroom" Meme announced, maybe thinking I would follow her.

Serena bit her nails, obviously very deep into thought. What is she thinking? What is she planning?

"Can I go get some water?" She asked.

"Yeah, I can get it" I said.

"No, that's oka-" I cut her off.

"I got it," If this was some plan to escape she didn't think that part through.

Filling a cup with ice cold water, I turned back to the living room. As I got closer I saw Serena sit down, when I left her she was already sitting...

"Where did you go?" I asked narrowing my eyes.

"Nowhere" She said coyly, grabbing the cup.

"Why were you standing up when I came in?" I confronted.

Her eyebrows knitted together, confusion, then that dissolved.

"Oh, ha, I was just stretching my legs" She replied.

Her gestures made me believe she was telling the truth, but something still seemed off. I could look at the cameras but they weren't the best. Plus, it seemed like something I didn't have to worry about.

"So do you just sit around all day watching the walls or what?" She asked with boredom and sarcasm.

"I have fun around here" I argued.

I guess in her case being locked up wasn't the highlight of her summer, yet she's not allowed to leave so she doesn't have that much room to push.

"Doing what?" She asked, fiddling with something in her pocket.

"Things you can't do" I replied, flicking through movies.

She rolled her eyes lightly, "Well, Captain Obvious, are you going to give me alternatives? I'm so bored" She asked.

"You can read a book" I said, finally settling on a movie.

She didn't reply, that was a no then. I tried to think of other things but I didn't care that much. So then we both sat in silence, the house getting hotter, the movie extremely dry just like every other movie at this time of the day. I receded to reading a book on my phone, she continued to watch. After what had to be an hour, maybe less, Dalton appeared. Plopping in the middle of us.

"What are we watching?" He asked filled with energy.

"Oh, uh... I don't know" I said not sure if it was even the same movie we started with.

He snatched the remote and started to scroll.

"I'm gonna get more water" Serena said with an uncomfortable tone in her voice.

Before she left I noticed she had only taken sips from the cup, why would she need to fill it?

I got up and started to leave, "Where you going?" Dalton asked looking up at me.

"I'll be back, just checking on something" I said.

I went into the kitchen, almost surprised at my findings. Serena was just sitting at the kitchen table, staring at the cup.

"Why are you over here?" I Asked sitting down.
"Does it really make a difference?" She shrugged.
"I uh" I didn't really know, I had no reason for her to be in the living room but I couldn't find a reason for her to be in the kitchen.
She strummed her fingers on the clean table.

"I want you to go to your room" I finally decided.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because I said so" I replied.
She narrowed her eyes.
"That's stupid" She said stretching.
"Just go" I said annoyed.
"Give me a real reason. I want logic" when I didn't have a immediate reaction she added, "Oh that's right, you don't have any because you're just using this as an excuse to boss someone around" She said with a nod.

My mouth was left open slightly. If I tell her to go now, it confirms what she said. If I don't she'll think it's okay to talk to me like that.

"Fine, go to the fucking living room. Why? Because if you don't we're already going to have a problem" I said getting pissed off.

"I mean, we're already in the kitchen..." She replied.

When I glared at her she got up. I got up too. I hated the high almighty act. She put both hands in her hoodie pockets.

"Am I allowed to go the bathroom or are we 'going to have a problem'" She mocked.

I kept my feelings in, trying my best not to back hand her. That would getting off on the wrong foot.

"Fine" I breathed, trying to calm down.

She ducked away and disappeared down the hall. I headed back to the living room, Dalton still where I had left him.
