~3 years later~

Ellie climbed up on top of a rock, she crouched down with her arrow pointed at the elk's side. A sudden rustle came from a bush beside the elk, scaring it away. "Dammit." Ellie rolled her eyes a checked what was in the bushes. A squirrel came bursting out. Ellie aimed and shot her bow which hit the squirrel head on. "Better than nothing," Ellie mumbled. Ellie held the squirrel by the tail and headed on her way. As Ellie continued to walk, a rock hit her. "Ow! What the hell?" Ellie looked back, but there was nothing. "What the-" Ellie walked to the river. She hopped on the stones that laid across it. "Hello?" She called. She heard rustling deeper in the forest and followed it. "Hello?" She called again. Ellie looked up at the sky which was turning into a dark blue. "Shit, I better get home. Joel's gonna be pissed." Ellie ran back, but looked behind her. But nothing appeared.

Ellie walked up to the big gate that protected the settlement. Bow, who was now a close family friend was up top guarding the gate. "Hi, Bow." Ellie mumbled. "Your dad's waiting for you." Bow snickered. "I bet, but hey. I brought dinner." Ellie held up squirrel. Bow smiled and opened the door. Ellie walked in. Ellie's new cousin, Richard ran up to her and hugged her legs. "Ellie!" He beamed. "Hi Richard," Ellie smiled. Maria and Tommy were pleased to finally be parents. "Uncle Joel is waiting for you," He smirked. "Oh I bet. Now go home, it's getting dark." Ellie laughed. The boy giggled and ran off. 

Ellie walked up to her front door, the blinds were somewhat opened and Ellie peeked inside, where Joel sat in a recliner. "Here we go."
